Another sad loss
I have confirmed the very sad news that Anthrocon staff member Wade "Darkwolfie" Dooley passed away peacefully this morning after a long hospitalization following a diagnosis of H1N1 influenza. I spoke with his wife, who asked me to pass along a very brief message: "Just let the Fandom know that he loved them."
Adios, fellow AC worker. :/ Sad to see one of our own taken by this illness.
*whimpers* it's sad that he is gone but he will be remembered
Publications Department isn't going to be the same without him. -:(

he shall be greatly missed.
He loved doing your commissions every year, and was so excited to be your friend. *hug*
I'm so glad to hear that. Everything else positive that could be said about Darkwolfie aside- and there's a lot- he could knock out exactly the art I asked him for, on schedule.
There's a story I'll have to tell about me, him, Furfright '07 and "Werewolves of London", sometime...
Oh, let me do it now. http://mongologue.livejournal.com/85979.html
I never met him, but as I was reading your story, I found myself laughing at the start, and by then end I could feel tears running down my face, as if he was someone that I have known all my life. He must have been a great man, and just from the way you talk about him I feel the joy that he brings out in people. I just wanted to let you know that. I will continue to pray for his family.
Damn. I've known him almost from the moment I got into the fandom. He was one of United Paws Animations founding board members and a big help to me with storyboards and concept ideas for our animation short plans.
He also did a great number of personal commissions. I admired his speed and diligence in getting his work done.
He was a really nice person all around and shall be missed greatly. :C
I cry for the loss of anyone, especially a furry, I will be sure to pray for his family
Same with me.
I am so sorry to hear this, especially tragic at this time of year. I didn't know him very well, but my heart goes out to his wife, family and friends.
He was a very likable person and probably the single most prolific provider of artwork to Anthrocon's publications. His family's loss is our loss is the fandom's loss.
I'm very sorry to hear that. I wish his family the best during this difficult time.
He must have been a very devoted person to the Fandom. I give him my solemn regards... He will be missed.
My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family. He really will be missed.
Goodbye Wade :'( best wishes to his family for their terrible loss at this time of year, i know the feeling
R.I.P
That's very sad.
And I didn't even get to meet him.
Here's his obituary:

Wade M. "Wolfie" Dooley, 41, of Lawrence, MA, formerly of Fitchburg, died on Dec 15th after a brief illness. He was born in Fitchburg, on May 1, 1968, the son of Elaine (Therrien) Bacon and the late Bernard Dooley.
He attended St. Joseph's Elementary School and Montachusetts Regional Vocational Technical School, where he studied data processing and graduated in 1986. He worked for such companies as NEBS and Verizon as a systems operator, and was working for American Student Assistance in Boston at the time of his death.
Wolfie had a passion and talent for art that he developed throughout his life. A pad and pencil were never far from his hand. He illustrated two books for Llewellyn Publishing, and one self-published collection of short stories. Wolfie was a staff artist for Anthrocon, the world's largest anthropomorphic fan convention. He was also a talented singer, and fronted the short-lived blues band Five Kinds of Ugly. Along with his wife, he was a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, an international organization devoted to the study and recreation of all aspects of medieval and Renaissance life.
Wolfie is survived by his wife of five years, Diane Sawyer Dooley, formerly of Harvard, his mother and stepfather, Elaine (Therrien) and Richard Bacon of Ashburnham, his brother Shaun, and his niece and nephew Shauna and Michael of North Brookfield.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 29, at 11:00 A.M., at St. Francis' Church in South Fitchburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to the MSPCA, Kitty Angels (kittyangels.org), or The American Cancer Society .

From the times I've met him, he was indeed very outstanding and performed beautifully as an Anthrocon staff member, perhaps one of the best staff member I've seen in any given anthropomorphics convention I've been attending since I began showing up at Conifur Northwest in 2005.
I read many of the journal posts about his death on Fur Affinity, and am quite saddened by this loss as well. May he find peace where he is at now. My heart goes out to his family.
It seems 2008 and 2009 were bad years for deaths, both in the celebrity world and in the fur fandom.
While I didn't know this gentleman personally, I do sent out my dearest thoughts and prayers to his friends and family.
I can't thank our staff enough for all of the hard work they put in for this con. You're all like family to me, for as little or as much as I know you.
so sad to hear but atleast he's somewhere that he can more than likely be what he really wanted and is having the time of his life
may darkwolfie rest in peace.
I never knew the guy, but he seems like a very nice and kind guy. Im sad I won't get to meet him, but I have drawn this for him. I don't know what his wife fursona was, so I drew her as a fox.

I know, sorry, I fixed it, heh. *looks at the post again* Wait! Where'd it go!? I fix the thing, now its not here? I'm confused.
*reloads a couple times* ok, there it is, jeez, weird things happening with that pic. Anyways, there's the pic I drew for him, Im sad I never got to meet him, he looks like a really nice guy, and we will miss him.

Really? You think THIS THREAD is an appropriate place for this sort of a comment? That's what PMs are for.
Tasha's right. There are much more appropriate forums for that sort of comment, such as our General Discussion forum.
OMG im so sorry for that and thought i had sent it him thinking it was private.

Farewell, fellow fur. You'll be missed.

Here's a pic I took of him at Anthrocon 2007:
