With Kage announcing that the Courtyard rate will be $129, the room cost there will be roughly $147 per night!

I posted earlier (before the rates were set in stone) that the rates would be about $140 per night after taxes. With the hotels having different rates:

Westin rate: $123 per night becomes $140.22 per night.
Doubletree: $124 per night becomes $141.36 per night.
Omni William Penn: $119 per night becomes $135.66 per night.
Courtyard: $129 per night becomes $147.06 per night.

These numbers are based on the rates listed to the left and the 14% taxes/fees/whatever.

(The Omni rate looks oddly low, compared to the others.)

As long as people remember that those figures are an estimate, I'll be happy. The calculation was made by taking the rates as listed in the Hotel Information and adding the 14% tax/fee rate Uncle Kage mentioned. If the hotels add other unmentioned fees, the calculation will be lower than what the price the hotel will tell you.

In short, consider those figures the minimums the hotels will be charging per night. Due to some mix-up, the hotel I stayed at last year never took the one-night-in-advance payment, so I can't say whether any additional fees were added to that figure.

As I'm thinking of attending, (from Down Under) this estimate will be very helpful in my budget planning. Thanks a lot ! Dance

I've taken to posting this whenever someone posts that they might be coming from Australia: remember the International Date Line! When it's Wednesday Down Under, it's only Tuesday here. Not allowing for that can mess your visit up big time. As Uncle Kage (who has made the trip) put it, "In general, if you leave Oz in the morning, you'll arrive in the USA in the evening of that same day. Going home, if you leave in the afternoon, you'll arrive in the morning two days later."

There's other useful information in http://www.anthrocon.org/node/4639 and to the left under Information, then FAQS. There's a section for International travel and (new) a currency converter.

(And, BTW, I registered at the Courtyard and the amount I mentioned above was correct to the penny. I figure the other amounts are either exactly correct as well, or really, really close...)

800? Where were you planning on staying? How are you getting there? If you split a room with 2 beds with 4 people, it'll be much more cost effective. In terms of travel, plane flights are cheapest roughly 3 months before the departure date, so keep looking for better deals!

I can confirm that your rate for the OMNOMNOMni hotel is correct. I booked a room for 4 nights and it came to exactly what you stated per night.
