So hey guys,

This will be my first con ever and I'm just wondering something important before I send everything off. My high school graduation is on the 24th which is also the first day of the con. I'm from Canada and will evidently ahve to fly in and therefore will not be able to be there on the first day. Am I able to register and then sign-in and stuff on the 25th?

I'm raelly hoping to hear a yes ^^

Registration will be open during the duration of the con so you will be able to register when you get there. The registration area will close over night but they will be open during the day.

On Friday the 25th, we roughly anticipate Registration to be open from 10am until 10pm. The final schedule will be released later.

You certainly can, and we recommend that you do, pre-register (at http://www.anthrocon.org/registration ) and then pick up your badge. It makes for faster times for you and us. Smiling

As you're coming in from Canada, your passport should be proper ID. To note, if you will not yet be 18 at the time of Anthrocon, you will need to have a Minor Consent Form signed by your parent/guardian and notarized.

Well -about that..heh,heh...you see - nothing really happens on the 24th; it is primarily a day to Arrive, to get your room and get Settled-In, and - paricularly if you didn't pre-register first - time to stand in line, possibly for a couple hours, and get registered, receive your convention credentials (which is to say, your Con Badge) and Convention Book and Program Guide, and mingle with the other con-goers for awhile, and perhaps attend a social "mixer" and pre-convention Dance, and to peruse the Con Book and Program Guide to plan and schedule what you are going to see and do on the 25th, 26th, and 27th, when the Convention actually happens.

So - if you arrive on the 25th, you can pick up your badge fairly quickly, because - clever individual that you are - you pre-registered, saving all that wait-in-line time, and after the Opening Ceremony, the convention starts in earnest at approximately 10 O'Clock in the morning.

So arriving early on the 25th, you haven't really missed anything, except a little extra partying time; if you have a room reserved, or roommates lined up and expecting you, then take a late-night flight, get to the hotel, grab a couple hours of shut-eye; and enter the convention center between mid-morning and noon, and you will be fine.

Good Luck!
