Anthrocon a "bridal" convention?
http://www.bridalhome.com/Conventions.html
Also seems megaplex and oklacon are also there too.
Considering the big link for Anthrocon actually points to "shopshop.com" I do indeed suspect it is a hacker.
Given the domain name, it looks more to me like a domain that programatically scrapes text from other sites based on keywords, and tries to automatically build a site based on those keywords so that they can get inbound clicks through Google and then sell advertisements to visitors.
Hahaha, that is hilarious! I wonder how many mundane brides-to-be are totally bewildered at these new "bridal events"? Of course maybe there'll be at least one who will suddenly get a "new idea" for her wedding theme! heehee Now if only someone would quickly add some pics of femme furs with bouquets and gowns! Winfoxi, Bridget, and Minerva come to mind among a few others. That would be awesome!!!

erf?
Alright...you have played "Stump the Fox", and you are a winner!
Minerva, I know - but "Winfoxi" and "Bridget" are drawing a blank, here. Could you provide a reference or context or background info, please?
- Vulpes Rex, suddenly feeling anachronous and "chronotose".
Sorry about that; i was watching the Boosh. Okay here goes;

Bridget: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4H-uEG74H-g

with Minerva: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DP-qu1mJcec
sooo kyoot ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6fNsAT2i_Q&feature=channel
and Vix! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0o7UxDe2gAU
but i doubt Vix would wear a bridal theme.
I am not adding a wedding/bridal track to the programming! How am I supposed to schedule a panel called "Choosing a dress for your special day" up against "Fursuit Construction 101" ?!?!?!?!?
*rus around screaming*
This is amusing and ironic, all at the same time...I was talking to a woman the other night who had queried a few of us about (and I quote) 'Anthrocon as a honeymoon destination'
I have to say though, I rather like charlieq's idea...a few femme furs in their fursuits AND bridal gowns...could be the beginning of a new furry trend!
I think we'd make a fine honeymoon destination. Beats Niagara Falls!
...Inch by Inch...
If the site is indeed a link farm putting links to websites where the word wedding ceremonies are mentionned ,
it wouldn't surprise me that Anthrocon is on there because of the ACTUAL previous weddings and people asking to be married at Anthrocon in the past.
Actually two of my friends did it in the past.
Are we talking about the same Anthrocon?
We've had exactly one wedding at Anthrocon, and it was in 1997. Since then we have had a very strict "No weddings" policy.
Well, Kage, he's at least partially right: there's been one wedding and there have been other requests that the Board have not permitted. Now, if you actually lived in the Pittsburgh area, you could tie the knot during the con, just not at the con.
(And, Ghu help us, if a couple getting married had the money, there's no reason they couldn't rent the other hall at the DLCC. If that happened, it'd probably be best if the people getting married were furries!)

My guess is that somebody hacked their site.
Now, if they'd spelled it 'bridle' my opinion might be different...
