Hi Hi all

well I'm planning an unusual costume and I'm realy hoping to have it ready for Ac this year how ever I need help with one crucial piece the head.

does anyone have any Idea how I might go about constructing a realistic rat skull head piece? See I'm hoping to do a discworlds Death of Rats costume and everything other then the head is going to be easy.

my other question is since it's the death of rats would it be okay if I carried a mock scythe? I know the rules on weapons but it seems like a scythe is essentail to the costume.

sorry to be a bother

While I cannot help you with the head, I can tell you that a false scythe should be OK. I mean I've seen Jack walking around with his all the time.

If the mock scythe is made of foam or flexible plastic, there shouldn't be a problem.

Basically think of it this way: Would you get in trouble if you walked down a public street with it? If it has a metal part on top, yes you probably would..and that's not allowed in the convention space either. Anything that can be used as a weapon (and is decidedly made to be so) isn't allowed.

Well money has become a problem this year so DOR won't be apearing and I'll have anouther year to work on it. I kinda think I know what to do for the construction of the head.

From whats been said the only worry I'd have for the scythe is the fact that I'd planed to have the handle made of wood... I wanted it to look like a real farm scythe. oh well anouther year to work on that too
