Hiya!

Other than a taxi or a limo for big $$ is there another easy way to get a tired fursuiter with multiple bags from the airport to the Westin without a lot of waiting/running around or confusion. The "Travel Info" on this site mentions a shuttle from the airport, but the link is not working. The Westin does not appear to offer shuttle service from the airport? Hmmm Sticking out tongue

Any advice others could provide would be greatly appreciated!

Here is a comment that was posted by Cheetah (no, not that Cheetah, the other Cheetah) in last year's forums:

I thought it may be helpful to pass along some specifics regarding perhaps the least expensive option for transportation between the airport and the hotel. A few folks have been kind enough to mention the 28X Airport Flyer bus, which for some may be a fine, economical way to get to the hotel. As I write this I'm experiencing the best in public transportation on that very route =>

The bus runs about about evey 20 minutes, starting before 6AM and running until just after midnight. Fare is $2.25 each way (some lower fares have been posted earlier, apparently the fare has increased), payable in bills or coins. The driver will not be able to make change. Pay when you board the bus for both legs (despite what their web page says). Expect the ride to last about 40 minutes, with few stops.

While those carrying half a dozen action packers likey will not want to opt for the bus, those with more typical luggage (carryon and one or two normal size checked bags) will generally be fine. The bus is set up as a half-size motor coach (comfortable!) with luggage racks for larger size baggage. There is room under most seats for small bags and carryons. Capacity is about 30 people, and a lift is available for wheelchairs.

After collecting any checked baggage at the airport, follow the overhead signs to ground transportation: bus. In all likelyhood you'll make a left once exiting any of the doors on the bus/ground side of baggage claim. There will be a signpost at the curb edge which marks the bording point for the 28X Airport Flyer.

Listen for the 7th ave and wm penn place stop. If asked nicely, the driver will help you out and make sure that you get off in the right place. If the bus driver lets you off right *before* they make the right turn onto 7th ave (helps to ask them to do this), the hotel will be straight ahead (same direction as the bus traveled before reaching 7th ave on the left. It's a large tan and brown building with lots of windows. A picture will be posted here once I upload the picture I just took. The walk is under two city blocks (unencumbered, maybe 60 seconds of walking). The official stop is one block after the bus makes a right on 7th. It's not hard to figure out, and ask the driver to point at the Westin if need be.

Additional information is available at www.ridegold.com. Schedules and planners are available, look for line 28X.

Not sure it would work so well if you have 5 pieces of luggage to drag the few hundred meters from the bus stop to the hotel, but the bus worked out really well for me. It stops a couple of places, but that's it.
