Requests for Fursuit Dance!
Hi Fuzzys!
Well for those of you who are new to all the "Furry Goodness!" I'll say a little bit about me!
I'm (what is known in some circles) as a Party/Wedding/Cheesy DJ. Now, I do not have a problem with that tag!, it just makes things more fun IMHO, So what that really means I WILL take requests!
However, there is NO guarantee that I WILL play everything!
I do feel that I have an pretty good idea of what people would like to hear, but I'm always open to suggestions, so here's your slot to request what YOU want to hear!
Once again NO Promise that I will play everything that get's requested!
So, feel free to toss them at me here and we'll see what happens!
DJ Rory

i have three songs i'd like to hear. "inside you" by DJ Mangoo, the "who let the dogs out" techno remix, and "take on me" by ah ha
The Levan Polka. XD
Seriously. The remixed one used last year's AC Commercial, or the 8 bit version, whatever!
Also, Caramell Dansen for sh--s and giggles. XD
How about Fire on the Mountain by the Grateful Dead? Might as well start with Scarlet Begonias to lead into it...
I got my costume idea from Fire on the Mountain. Our favorite local Dead cover band played a Halloween show and announced a contest: come as your favorite character from a Dead song. So I was the Dragon With Matches. Won best costume and got free admission to all their gigs for a year! So I feel like Fire on the Mountain is my song.
I haven't seen a schedule for when the dance(s) is/are... what day/time/place are you DJ'ing?
Looking forward to it!
Jen
Sorry for posting twice, but I just heard this, and would love to dance to it:

It's Drive It Like You Stole It by the Glitch Mob.
I'll be at all of the fursuit dances. I want 80s, and more 80s after that.

You get the idea...
Leave out the Beastie Boys though.
We knew how to dance in the 80s. We didn't need to take X or have glowing things to look good on the dance floor either...hehe
Seriously though, the 80s seems to have been the culmination of dancing. Techno and trance seem to be something you have to take stupid drugs to enjoy (hey, never done it, just what I've seen, and isn't that was a "rave" is all about...I don't know, but I do know that they don't have dance clubs on every corner like they did in the 80s.) Dancing was so popular (without drugs) that many artists made remixes of popular music to dance to. I have an 11 minute version of "This Corosion" by Sisters of Mercy, an 8 minute version of Soft Cell's "Mug's Game", and so on... Now, I never liked the remixes for just listening, but they were good to dance to.
Play some of this, and you'll see some old farts out on the floor tearing things up...
As for fursuits...its really, really, really hard to dance when you can't see or hear. And blinding strobes and 150-200bpm with heavy bass on every beat is just plain impossible to dance to in a fursuit...okay, for most of us that is.
I don't know if you are a fursuiter, but if you aren't, look for me and I'd be happy to put you in a costume and let you see what its like. It's hot, restrictive, sweaty, you can't see, you can't hear, and did I mention hot and sweaty? Bear these things in mind in your music selection and you'll be a hit as a DJ.
Play a lot of 80s music and you'll get a full tip jar (even if you don't have a tip jar!)
Now now, there's no need to put down others' musical tastes; a simple 'i don't care for electronic music' will suffice. There's room in the fandom for folks with all different musical preferences. Personally, i like both kinds (among other things).
And as i recall, folks were doing plenty of drugs on the dance floor in the 80's, too; they were just different drugs.

I would LOVE to hear something besides trance and techno...maybe something everyone can really dance to, like some of the top radio hits? :3
