Fursuit Masquerade Questions
Hey there, I've emailed the masquerade programming but I didn't get a response back in regards to what me and my partner want to do for the con, what should I do if I don't receive the email within a timely manner?
What should I do about props? I can buy em at a grocery store on the way down, but I may need a door prop is that gonna be in the scope of a possibility?
We also have dialog in our skit, how do we go about to well doing it? do we get those mics that are put on those person that has dialog? Or is it pre-recorded?
Thanks.
We cannot provide any props. We're busy enough with just running the con.
Any large props will need to be discussed. The DLCC is a union shop and if the props are large or unwieldy so as to require special handling or construction, things can get very complicated.
I suggest just keeping it simple.
That sound sogod, I may actually have to make a cardboard oven for what I am going to do, and we will probably improvise what we need we just need a door knocking sound and a small table, nothing too big. But I believe everything in regards to questioning is resolved. Thanks. One prop I need to get I actually have to get the night before practice.
Thanks.
sounds good, I will be stopping at a grocery store for the items that we will need for my skit.
I almost forgot to mention Mines about 2 minutes 20 seconds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHAFV-bQ2UE it was based on a song from 1951, tis a classic.
Ill need a medium sized folding table, makes things easier to set props on. and I can get the audio from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHAFV-bQ2UE for the entirety of the skit, I may edit the audio to remove the knocking of the door sound at the beginning.

There is a mandatory masquerade practice Saturday morning for those who wish to do a skit in the masquerade. You will need to show up to the practice if you wish to participate in the masquerade, even if you get a reply to your email. If you don't receive a reply from them about your skit (they are very busy at this time so please be understanding) just make sure you are there for the practice. During the practice you will run through the staging of your skit with KP. You can use pre-recorded dialog if you want or you can use live dialog. If you speak live you will be given hand held microphones to use during the skit, I don't think the con has lapel mics.
As for props it is probably best if you brought your own props with you. You can never tell if the con staff would be able to find the props you need. As for the door prop I can't say for sure but I would think that the con may not be able to provide it. KP will have to provide an official answer for that. He does read the boards here so he will probably answer.
One other thing to be aware of is that the skit length needs to be held to a maximum of 3 minutes. Any longer and they have trouble getting in all the acts that want to perform and they will ask you to trim it down.
Don't take my answers as an official reply from the con but I believe they should be pretty close. KP or other masquerade staff will correct them if the are off. Hope this helps you out some. Let us know if you have any other questions.
