Interesting phoneHi everyone,

With the con just a few days away, we're trying something new this year. We've set up an Operations Hotline, which will be manned 24 hours from Wednesday the 23rd through Sunday the 27th.

Our phone number is:

832-FUR-OPS-1

Feel free to use this number as a point of contact if you need to speak to someone in Con Ops or Security (they share the same physical office).

What sorts of things would you call ConOps for? More info can be found on our Con Ops page.

PROTIP: Do not ask them how magnets work.

some days it's hard to tell the difference between thinking outside the box, and being just plain crazy.

make sure you have a phone with caller ID if possible, this way if you get a rash of crank calls, you can at least log the phone it's coming from if not the name.. match it up against registration records and handle the situation.

Yeah, unfortunately that's not a plan that'll work too well :[

I dunno about other platforms but my droid has an app that lets me change my outgoing phone number for caller ID purposes, it takes about three seconds of effort.

I'm not overly concerned. All incoming calls are logged anyway. They let us establish a timeline after the fact if there are any incidents.
