Sports and Furs: Will I survive? :-P
So I am thinking of attending the sports and furs panel, but there is a small complication. I am a fan of the Baltimore Ravens and the Washington Capitals, both teams that are hated immensely by folks from Pittsburgh (and DC if you're a Redskins fan). So if I show up, what's the likelihood I will make it out of the room alive?
I promise don't engage in major trash talk, unless you decide to take it to a personal level.
Yeah, it is that panel (of course I manage to get the name backwards!). Learning about staying injury free wouldn't be bad either. One just has to watch themselves when they're going into enemy territory,
I'm a Chicago Blackhawks Fan. I will try not to mention this to lo STANLEY CUP! STANLEY CUP! WE WIN WE WIN! and keep a polite level of decorum about it all.
Apparently the Blackhawks will be riding in the Chicago Pride parade with the Stanley cup:

Hey, I ain't sayin' nuthin' bad about it. I can respect the 'Hawks. Duncan Keith, Toews, Kane, nice core there. I'll be rockin' my Chris Kunitz Pens T when I stop by Con Ops to volunteer in about... six hours or so.
Hah, you can give me grief for the Blackhawks winning like that, I'm hoping the Caps pull their act together next season because I'm tired of watching them choke in the playoffs.
You know - 'tis a real shame that we couldn't host Sir Stanley's Cup for a day, at AnthroCon; I mean, the Cup is famous for having been to more places and been seen by more people, than any other major sports trophy, it just sesms natural that sooner or later, one day, the Stanley Cup would turn up at AnthroCon.
I mean, just picture this: During Opening Ceremonies, Uncle Kage mentions, "You Know - considering how fast and how large Furry Fandom has grown, it shouldn't be surprising that a Celebrity or two have joined our ranks", at which point someone brings out this large, somewhat cylindrical plush animal and sets it at the end of the table the Board sits at - pulls down a zipper, and reveals - The Stanley Cup underneath the plush fur.
The Stanley Cup could then spend the rest of the day in the Dealers' Den, next to our Charity of the year, and people - in suit and out - could, for a donation (to the charity, NOT to AnthroCon)of about $5, pose for a picture with The Stanley Cup, until the end of that day - at which point The Cup shall resume its travels to wherever it is next scheduled to appear.
Gee - I guess we better start rooting for the Penguins to win it again, to ever have such a chance?
Not necessarily... each player on the championship team is allowed to retain possession of the Cup for a day. A few years ago one player who grew up near where I live brought it to his hometown on his day. So all we need is a Pittsburgh native to do the same, or just a player who happens to be a furry fan!

Is this the panel hosted by JacobOHare? If it is, it's more about how to stay fit and avoid being injured when engaging in physical activity and sports. Noone will bite your head off; most of us aren't from Pittsburgh ourselves anyways! :>
