So due to unforeseen things I'll be heading to AC on Thursday at 730 am so i guess is there anything I can do till things start to happen on Thursday (i know its like uber late to be posting this)

If you like fursuiters (I love 'em), they will probably be all over the place to enjoy. I arrived Wednesday night at AC2008, and there was never a dull moment for me. You'll also be able to register for the con early on (as soon as they open registration). No programmed events though, if that's what you're looking for, until later in the evening. Or you could also stop by con ops and volunteer your services for a while, they would really appreciate that, and that would help the con.

Our hotel rates are valid for three days prior to and three days after the convention. You need to reserve early though, since we do not keep a lot of rooms open on those nights.

Hotel reservation begins February 2, 2011.

ahhh so id have to reserve about 3 days before hand then, i guess i could finally meet other furs in rl before con begins and get everything settled and ready ^^

Not exactly sure what you mean here. If you are talking about having to reserve a room for those three days, you don't have to. Just because the Anthrocon rate is good from 3 days before to 3 days after the con does not mean that you have to reserve a room for the entire time, those are just the days you can get the convention rate. If you are talking about making your reservations for your hotel room 3 days before the con starts you would really be out of luck because the rooms will be sold out by that point. As Uncle Kage said reservations for hotel rooms will open up on Feb 2, 2011. The rooms in the Westin, which is the main convention hotel, will be mostly sold out within 48 hours or less of reservations opening. The rooms at the Courtyard will take a little longer to sell out but won't be far behind. The Omni and Doubletree will have rooms still open a lot closer to the con but will most likely sell out sometime in late May or early June. It is best to make your reservations as early as possible.

As for room rates this year they averaged around $120 per night before taxes, close to $140 per night after taxes.
