fursuiting
ok so i plan on going to anthrocon in 2011
if i go in my fursuit is there anything i need to do besides pay Registration/membership fee?
I will note, you also need to bring Photo ID to present at Registration. That and payment is all Anthrocon requires for attendance. You do not need any sort of fursuit to attend, to note.
A little late to reply, but I'll say it anyway:
1. Try not to arrive in the registration line in fursuit. You will need to pop your head so that we can see who you are. If you're a performer who takes fursuiting that seriously, then best to show up as your human self initially.
2. A government-issued ID with picture, birthdate, and signature is recommended. Drivers' License, State ID, Passport, Military ID are acceptable. Lack of sufficient form of ID will cause delays, and we may turn you away.
3. A lot of people asked this, and yes, even if you're paying cash, you must still provide an address and phone number. If things go awry, we will contact you. This helped when a congoer lost his badge and I was able to call him via the information in our registration system. It also is a key identifier in who you are, and so no one else can use your badge and claim it as their own. Also, as a business, having a record of who is in the con is needed for several various important issues. Chia might be able to explain better than I can.
This is correct. We do need to change this from display as 'billing address' for On-Site registrations, but we do wish contact information.
this stuff is good to know because i dont want to kill the magic
i dont need my address on printed paper or anything like the DMV do I?
i really wanted to ware my fursuit so i wanted to make sure that i didnt need to pay extra or something
I'll try to make this as clear as possible.
You will need some sort of government issued ID with your photo on it to get your badge. This can be a driver's license, a state issued ID for non-drivers or even a passport. This kind of ID often has your address on it. Registration requires you to fill out a document with your name and address. You should not wear your fursuit to Registration. Not only may the lines be long, you'll have to remove your fursuit head so they can match the person inside the suit to the ID.
There are no additional charges to wear a fursuit. There are no additional charges if you don't wear a fursuit. Once you have paid to be an attendee, you've paid for access to every public function at Anthrocon.

Nope, paying your registration fee is all you need do to attend Anthrocon... whether you are fursuited or not.
Unless you're under 18 or 21: http://www.anthrocon.org/faq/minors (Pennsylvania has limits on what 18 + 21 year-o;ds can do that might be different from your home state.)
If your screen is set to a wide-enough pixel count, you'll see a search bar. I'd suggest you type FURSUIT into it and read as much as you can. Also look at fursuit.org. Wearing a fursuit is hot and sweaty; only 15 to 20% of attendees wear them.
