Wine Tasting 2010: The afterparty
Thanks guys for a great time, as per usual(A huge thanks to Amaraq(sp?)! as usual :3- sorry it was SO full of people I didn't get to socialise with you properly
)
Bottles of wine: 39 + 1 nonalcoholic sparkling cider(wtf- shame on whoever you are!
)
Visitors: 71 (About 35 consistantly)
Thanks to creature for donating his suite, even if he had to work through the last half of it :3
Although most of the night started out with sweet desserts(As the usual early crowd seems to favour them), with reds dominating the table all night long, Shiraz and Cabernets came in full force later on, with a very lovely bottle of Italian somethingorother(Rizzio?) and a lovely port being our crowning jewels :3
We were also graced by a short visit by Kage!
Thanks everyone for coming :3 I will be holding one of these at Furfright(As usual bring a bottle and your ID!). I'm so surprised this was so popular this year! I had a great time, I hope everyone else had the same
Yes, it was quite nice trying all the different sorts of wines. I brought the 3 rieslings (since Kage is fond of those, as am I). Oddly enough, even after all that wine, I was still lucid! I recall everything quite clearly... especially that one red wine that had the distinct flavor of dirt. XP
I'm glad to hear there will be another at Furfright! Hopefully I'll be able to stay for all of that one and spend some more time socializing, instead of having to take off for a game tournament.
I had a most excellent time at the wine tasting and now I have a few bottles to go hunting for. Since it was my first Anthrocon, it served as a great way to go and meet a bunch of other folks, plus enjoy some wines. I hope others enjoyed the wines I brought (Lingamore Cellars Mountain White and St. Clair Vineyards Mimbres Red).
Thanks again to ArtSlave for planning this and Creature for hosting it!
this I where I got my mead from http://www.chinookhoney.com/Chinook%20Arch%20Meadery.htm
It was their Excalibur variety, sadly it looks like it can only be picked up in person
Definitely an increase in attendance over previous years. The helpful lady at Mancini Bakery in the Strip district offered to run the baguettes through their slicer machine. It looked like way too much bread until I got there. The salami with wine (Trader Joe's?) was very nice, thanks for sharing that. Didn't even see the sparkling cider
Hopefully we put things back into some semblance of order as the evening wound to a close. Many thanks to Mr Creature for the space.
There were a ton of very nice selections across the whole spectrum of wines. Reds, whites, ports, mead (Mmmmmmmm, mead) Every wine added something to the evening. Even if you didn't like a particular selection you learned something about it. Or at least to avoid it
Great job once again. Like fine wine the event improves every time.
It was great. Thanks for hosting, and if I make it to FF this year I'll be attending again.
I enjoyed the party greatly. Unfortunately, I had to leave early. Just wondering if you were able to salvage my chip and salsa bowls, (and lids). Never had the chance to retrieve them. (Not that they were expensive or anything.) If possible, bring them to Furfright and I'll refill them. Even take them home this time.
If I'm there next year I'll make a run for glasses at the beginning instead of half way through. Glad the Port went over well.
Glad everyone had a good time. Sorry, G, but I love desert wines. I love fruity, sweet wines and will continue to bring lots of them!

I had a great time and to whoever brought the homemade, thank you it was lovely
Edit: and I think everyone recalls the sawdust and pinsol XP no mater how drunk they were
