So, Anthrocon was more than I ever expected it to be. The hugeness of it really did overwhelm me the first day and a half. I had the very obvious "This is her first ever convention" gape going on. It took me getting away from the people I came with to get out of my shell and mingle. Met a lot of nice, fun people, and it was a very good experience. I will say, it's one thing seeing fursuiters in videos on YouTube, and a completely other thing seeing them in real life.

If I had questions, people were helpful and polite. Everyone was super friendly, and I met artists I've been a fan of for years, and I got to see fursuiters who the first time I saw them was on YouTube.

I could say that finding some of the meet-and-greets/panels was a little confusing at first for a first-time congoer, but using common sense and looking at the little book that was given to me, I found things easily enough. Plus, it was also as simple as asking people where something might be.

I personally liked the way the fursuit parade was handled, and it was exciting to see. Time went by too fast, and I missed some things I wish I could have seen (like the Masquerade). This is probably why it's handy to check the time, but I also know there's always next year.

Any of the issues I may have had were addressed and answered in other feedback threads. They were very, very minor, and since they were addressed, I'd feel it redundant to bring them back up.

I definitely enjoyed Anthrocon, and I'm unbelievably excited about next year. I know it'll only be bigger and better, as, from what I'm gathering, it is every year.

Sorry if my feedback wasn't helpful; I do know positive feedback is just as helpful, though!

You guys are spoiled now a days, back when I hit my first con there was like 300+ furs at AC (back in Albany) and no idea how many suiters (if the % was like it is now, maybe 48 if that) and we were crammed into a tiny hotel with only a few dealers in the dealers room and we had to walk up hill both ways and and... Stay off my lawn you kids!

Any ways, glad to hear you had fun and a tip for next year. If you're going with friends, break up to hit different panels/events and tape them. You can trade tapes and stories when you get back to your room for the night. This also works with the huge lines, have some one stand in line and trade out with them (no walking up and talking to them to sneak into line, too many people do that now) when you get there so they can go else where. The best trick for the reg line (don't get mad at me staff) is to show up in the evening Thursday as most of us crazy people stand there in line for a while (hours if not pre-reg) in the morning so we can get it over with and go do other stuff, which means every one is done for the most part by the mid afternoon so the line is very small, thus a shorter wait for you. Or just go Super sponsor which gives you the tiniest line for both reg and all events but also front row seating at said events (although the new seating set up makes that sort of moot as they are all decent seats now, thanks staff).

Thanks Smiling We did pre-reg and got there late afternoon (went and got food after the flight landed), so around 7ish? Got through it pretty quickly!

That's a pretty good idea, though (about the panels and stuff). Most of the stuff that I saw my buddies weren't interested in, and most of the stuff they wanted to see didn't have a lot of interest to me. The one, single thing that interested us was Uncle Kage's Story Hour, haha.

By the way, I loved your suit! I had seen pictures of it from past cons; seeing it in real life was really cool Laughing out loud
