fursuit parade information please
ok... i searched the site, i looked in the FAQ i even searched some of the forums, and though i did get a bit of an awnser to some of my questions i do not have enough information about the fursuit parade. so i appologize if im waisting peoples time, and i realise its almost a year away but the sooner i learn the better.
mainly just two questions:
one: how do you become a part of it? do you just show up? is there sign ups anywhere?
two: whats allowed in the parade? because i can guarantee that i will not have a fursuit to ware... but i do have an idea on my costume, i want to dress up like my dragon charicter, dressed up as Jace beleren i have to look into the details but my main plan is going to be trying to have gloves and shoes... but my face is probably going to be painted if at all posible i duknow, again its a year away so plans might change depending but for now thats just what im thinking about doing and would like to know if its ok or not?

YEAH see thats why i kinda wanted to have my charicter dress like jace beleren you know to fit the theme XD if you dont know who jace beleren is just do a google search and he should come up in the imiges, i love him so much
It'll be in the program book you'll get (come next year), haha. But yes, you just show up. The program book will tell you what time and where to meet up before the parade.
I've seen people dressed as the Cats cast, I've seen the face paint, ears, and tail, as well. But, like Origamigryphon said, watch a bunch of videos of it

I have a question, and it seems to fit here. Is the parade visible to people who haven't payed to get in? Because my brother wants to watch it, but other than the parade he has no interest in AC.
You will need to purchase a membership to Anthrocon to view the parade. We do sell a day pass for Saturday only at a modest rate, which will enable him to see the parade, and anything else he wishes to on that day.
I know it's not the same, but if that's all he wants to see, he could always watch the parades posted on Youtube. There are always hundreds of those videos posted after the cons, with several different angles (and sometimes commentary). :3
Yup, you just show up. It usually starts in the main Pittsburgh ballroom.
There's quite a few people that go in a parade with just ears, tails and facepaint, so I don't think anyone would mind :3 In fitting with this year's theme, I even saw a couple of cavemen running around. Sometimes even handlers are in the parade wearing nothing but their regular clothes, because they are guiding their suiter, but that's usually a minority.
I recommend watching a couple of parade videos on youtube (of which there are a TON) to get a general idea of it. :3
