We got a shout-out from Engadget.
Small, but still cute.

Enjoy. :]
Have you looked at the marketing images they have for those headphones? I think it has less to do with furries and more to do with the fact that they advertise 'em by slapping 'em on a young looking girl in a schoolgirl outfit and posing her suggestively. :b
The order of things can be very important in any article:
"We wouldn't recommend them unless"
Part 1: " you're a 13-year old girl -- "
Part 2: "or maybe getting ready for Anthrocon 2011."
Part 1: "Nekomimi Headphones for Cosplay aficionado,"
Part 2: "perverts"
Don't get me wrong, I don't see stabs and jabs everywhere I turn, and I really don't care what others think about me or the fandom. This one was just a bit obvious in my opinion, but I hope I'm wrong.
I think you're taking it way, way too seriously.
I don't think they meant any malice by it - the other article on AOL was terrible, but really it was terrible because they searched out a terrible person to interview.
I call my friends names all the time, you know, in a friendly way. People rip on each other sometimes. It's one word. Don't read so far into it.
Don't worry not affecting me or my mood. It was more of an observation than a concern.
Hmm, Engadget appears to be an AOL-affiliated site.
As everyone knows, there was this article a few weeks ago from Lemondrop, also connected to AOL. Supposedly, The Young Turks has a partnership deal with America Online as well.
I know, the Engadget thing is just a simple half-a-line blurb. Although it seems like, so far, every mention of AC by the media, outside of the furrydom and the local Pittsburgh press, is connected some way to AOL. I suppose that makes logical sense, the websites would share info with their AOL partners. But it makes me wonder where the original source came from? Lemondrop?
Just an observation.....
It's Engadget. They're huge geeks. Their job is to cream over electronics.
I'm sure they're just naturally aware - I wouldn't be surprised if there were some furries on staff.
Mmm, creamed technology . . . *drools*
I was thinking the cat-ear headphones were going to be the loop kind that go over your ear, and the cat ear was attached to that in some way. To see that it's a mere headband makes me sad. :/

Too bad they felt the need to throw the "Nekomimi Headphones for Cosplay aficionado, perverts" at the bottom of the article.
