is this a con feedback or a panel discussion topic?
I'll speak my peace and you can decide.
2010 was my first con ever: Furry or what-have-you.
There were several panels and meet-ups that I was interested in attending. Fursuit friendly dance, Female fursuiters, etc... The descriptions were adequate for said event, but some things were a bit fuzzy. After the con, I viewed pictures and videos of events. The great majority of my questions were answered in this manner. I know what to expect of certain events for 2011. I viewed pictures and videos of past events, but didn't know what to expect exactly.
My (tiny) group and I were a little confused as to how certain panels were run. For instance: (1) We were not sure if the Fem Fur photo shoot was for females in fursuits or female fursuits or both. I recieved my answer after the con had ended. (2) We were not certain how the fursuit friendly dance was going to work, as we could only be in suit for less than 1 hour before overheating. Strenuous activity such as dancing would reduce that time considerably. As mentioned before, My answers were received by viewing pictures and videos after returning home from the convention.
I have learned much from my experiences at AC2010, And plan to attend in 2011. I know what to expect, and I know that I will have twice as much fun.
*rimshot*
I see you caught my pun...
This year was definitely a learning experience for me, and I now know what to expect for next year. With new costumes and new friends, I will be ready for all of the furry madness!
Glad you had a lot of fun. Also our fursuit friendly dance is simply made to be..well..fursuit friendly. More of the happy upbeat music. Not reaching speeds in excess of 300bpm. We keep the inhouse lights up. Also got a water station nearby and the headless lounge is right across from the ballroom.
Again glad you had a good time.
Suiting more than an hour at a time is just something you pick up with practice :]
There's some real hardy folk at the con who (when properly hydrated) can do multi-hour stretches.
The fan in my head broke during travel and I had no soldering iron to fix it. Otherwise I could have lasted much longer. The good news is that I lasted 3 hours straight (at Otakon this year) in my new fursuit. It doesn't have a fan, but it has better ventilation.
I am definitely going to try to attend more panels and events in 2011. Hopefully with a new fursuit or two. I'll most likely have a newly created Kig with me as well.
i have a question, 2010 was my first fur con( had fun but was scare at the same time) i missed the first time con goers panel, i wish i was held right after the opening cerimonies. instead of later in the day. would it be possable to move it to after the opening cerimonies?
Some of us like to eat lunch after the OC
It then started at 1 PM. Here are the youtube videos (I don't have time to look up how to embed them, sorry):

Suggestion to Giza: how about adding http://www.youtube.com/user/anthrocon to the Community list on the left? Though it didn't help in this case, as I used the general search function to find the above...
Also, I really don't like the Rich Text default - I turn it off, compose my message, hit Preview to verify it looks OK, hit Save, my formatting gets messed up and it defaults back to Rich Text, and I try again
I think there are probably a lot of folks who need food first and foremost when opening ceremonies are over. Most particularly, i imagine Kage needs food after a long morning of scuttling around keeping the rest of us in line, and he's a necessary element of both events.
However, it might be worth some light analysis of previous years' schedules to see if "So this is your first Anthrocon?" and/or "So your kids dragged you to anthrocon?" usually end up scheduled at more or less the same time every year. If they do, we could tell newcomers that we expect they'll be around that time (roughly), so that they can make sure that their travel plans get them in on time for those panels.
Of course, if there hasn't been much consistency about the timing of these intro panels, then there's no point in us saying there is and adding to KP's stress levels.

By design, everything we did was to a certain extent fuzzy.
