Forum Badges Explained
- The Board Badge. This is reserved for members of Anthrocon's Board of Directors. Individual Board members are basically department heads, and can answer questions about their department, or can help you find the appropriate department.
- The Staff Badge. This is reserved for members of Anthrocon's staff. Staff members can answer questions about their department, or refer you to the Board member who runs that department. Interested in helping out on staff? Check out our Staff FAQ.
- The Contributor Badge. This is given to users who are neither Staff nor Board, but have a solid record of contributing on these forums. The decision of who receives these badges is done by fiat. While asking me directly for a Contributor Badge will ensure you don't get one, I do encourage users to nominate other users on these forums for the badge if they feel a user has contributed in an exemplary manner.
If my permission forms were filled in, could I just enter the convention with a tag that marks approval? No fancy fursona badge (I like over-the-top things, but not on myself)?
I'm not sure what you're asking here. The only badge you must wear at Anthrocon is the membership badge which says you've paid the membership fee. That's it. Any other badges, if any, are up to you.
The user badges on this website have nothing to do with the actual convention badges at the convention itself.
This thread is specifically about the "badges" next to the posts on this messageboard.
At the convention, you are required to pick up a CONBADGE of these at Registration:

You may choose to wear an artist badge, but they are completely optional.

you might want to mention mesage board in the title of the thread to eliminate confusion. When you say badges people naturally think of con badges or character badges worn to a convention.
