For any Weird Al fans who might be attending the con, Weird Al will be performing on Saturday, Jul 7th, at "The Amphitheatre at Sandcastle", which is right in Pittsburgh! In fact, it is a short drive from The Westin. More info is on Weird Al's MySpace page. |

Bah, this is tough, buy tickets now and risk missing something good at AC, or don't and then don't get tickets.....ahh the drama!

Thats the same problem I'm having. If I buy the tickets now and something really good comes up during the same time than I'm out money, but If I wait then there's a good chance tickets will allready be sold out. Aargh!! >_<

permalinkWell, usually when I go to a con it's to go to a con. If there's an activity a day or two before or after I may extend my stay. Any con that would have large enough gaps of time between events that interest me so I could skip an entire evening or entire day is a con I wouldnt attend in the first place.

Didn't this happen once or twice before? I'm having major deja vu about Weird Al being in town the same time as AC.

Yes, he was in Philadelphia on the Poodle Hat tour the same weekend as AC in 2004, I believe.
We went with some of the art friends and their SO's, it was great!
We're debating going again this year, waiting for the ticket pre-sale to start on Monday 3/5/2007 to see how bad the prices are in Pittsburgh.

Oh wow!
I saw him in concert a few years ago here in Cleveland, and he puts on a HILARIOUS show! He changes costume and even dons the infamous fat suit for "I'm Fat".
I highly reccommend Mr. Al.

There are some events that you can almost always count on having on Saturday at Anthrocon:
1) The Charity Auction will be in the afternoon.
2) The Masquerade will be in the evening.
3) Either 2 the Ranting Gryphon or Uncle Kage's Story Hour will be in the evening (before or after the masquerade; we've not decided yet).
4) Bidding for artwork designed for mature collectors will end Saturday in the very late afternoon or early evening.
5) The voice auction for those pieces of artwork designed for mature collectors will be on Saturday night.

Weird al and furry….
Music video for Jurassic park (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpDckbqhpW8)
Music video for “close but no cigar” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucFMLo6-nUQ)
He has done a number of other things that involve anthro ’s, however you would have to hunt for them.

permalinkThe media has enough fun with us...I'd hate to see what a comedic musician will do to the furry reputation. Especially one of his class. I'd say it'd fare more or less along the same lines as "CSI".

We might drop a little note inviting him to swing by just to have some fun, although I suspect that his schedule is going to be tight.

permalinkYou know what would be fun? If he did agree to drop by, we should get a hamster fursuiter to parade around while someone blasts his song "Harvey the Wonder Hamster"
I'm sure he'd get a laugh out of that one.
