But ummmmm. I found a problem: The day before AC starts is the same day that the Movie comes out. Now normally I would sit out side of a movie theater for a day or more just to get in to see it. But now I (and many of you) can't. But I had an idea. Why not we have a meet up of us who want to see the movie, and we ALL go see it, if in the same movie theater. IT would be great if there were fursuiters with us. Anyone wanna join me? PS I CAN'T WAIT To see it! Its going to be awesome! Michel Bay + Original Optimus Prime Voice Actor + Steven Speilberg = a really really good chance that it is going to be good. PPS Michel was interviewed about the movie, and he was wearing this shirt: GIANT F****** ROBOTS ARE COMING! Not censored of course. |

Michael Bay? You mean that guy who directed the God-awful movie Pearl Harbor that only got 25% on Rotten Tomatoes?
Yeah... I'm really not looking forward to watching him rewrite Transformers history.

And Armageddon, And Bad Boys I & II, and The Rock, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) (mixed views), and others. All of which were good movies. Don't judge a man on just one movie. Its... whats the word? Presumptuous of you to do so Giza, something I wasn't really expecting to come from you.

To tell you the truth, I was unaware of any of his other movies. I apologize for going off half cocked. I should have done a little research.
So, I looked up those movies that you mentioned on Rotten Tomatoes as well. Here are the results:
Armageddon - 41%
Bad Boys - 44%
Bad Boys 2 - 25%
The Rock - 63%
Texas Chainsaw Massacre - 37%
Now while I know Rotten Tomatoes isn't the be-all end-all of movie reviews, and it may not be your particular cup of tea, but I've found it to be a pretty reliable guide to what sorts of movies that I have liked over the years. Based on that, and the reviews I just pointed to, I have the feeling that the new Transformers movie isn't going to be something that I'll be that interested in.
I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. Sorry.

Wait, it gave The Rock, both Bad Boys moives, and Armageddon bad views??? Wow, thats when I call a guide unreliable (when it gives bad reviews to great movies)
Also, have you yourself seen those movies?

Actually, Rotten Tomatoes is a movie review aggregation site; it takes reviews from many different publications and averages them together. In the case of, say, Bad Boys, of the 36 reviews sampled, 16 were positive and 20 were negative, giving a Tomatometer reading of 44% (16/36=0.4444).
This makes it all the more impressive when a movie scores really low on the Tomatometer - I mean, usually you can find someone who likes a movie!

Well, not quite. Anything over 60% on that site is considered "fresh".
The only one of those movies I saw was The Rock. I thought it was okay.
Otherwise, the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes have been pretty much in sync with how much I've liked (or not liked) movies. For example, the three Matrix movies scored 88%, 75%, and 37%, which pretty much summed up how much I enjoyed those movies.

I prefer Metacritic.com, which does the same kind of thing in aggregating media reviews.
Armageddon - 42% (23 reviews)
Bad Boys - 41% (15 reviews)
Bad Boys 2 - 38% (34 reviews)
The Rock - 59% (18 reviews)
Michael Bay didn't direct the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, either the 2003 version (38% after 33 review) or the 2006 version (29% after 18 reviews).
I've only seen Armageddon (liked it) and The Rock (was just ok).

Fine, he was the Producer for it. But still, this thread isn't about what he did or didn't do. Its about weither or not if anyone here want to group up and see it.
Talk about being on off topic.

It takes a special kind of feline irrelevance to take an already off-topic topic off of its original topic!

I'm a bit worried about the movie as well. It's mainly the whole BumbleBee thing. But the movie meetup sounds like a great idea! Wether it's good or bad there'll be people to discuss it with.
