The Furry Wii console ID interchange is open!

For those of you that have Wii consoles, you'll know you need to swap ID's with friends before you can post to each other - or before your Mii characters can begin to wander around your console.

IMPORTANT POINTER
Some people share their Wii console with friends and family, so when exchanging first-time messages - or until you know for certain who you are talking to - please keep message nice and PG Smiling
* Add a note to your post saying what you'd like to swap messages about if you like!

BY PLACING YOUR WII ID ON THE FORUM YOU ARE INVITING OTHER FURRIES TO ADD YOUR WII ID TO THEIRS, AND IN TURN IF YOU WISH TO BEGIN TO SWAP MESSAGES, YOU THEN ADD THEIR WII ID TO YOURS.

I'll kick it off with my Wii ID. I'll happily swap woofs and growls and AC-related chat, and my Wii console IS used by my family too.

PM me for a return ID-swap Smiling

Adding yas as well KnightFox ^^

do you want some random Mii's as well? We have ones that might not be liked by all people, but many are random amusing ones. Just curious if ya wanted them.

I just wanted to experiment to see if it actually would work since the Wii has 2 USB ports.

So far, results yield that an off the shelf keyboard with a USB connection simply does not work by just plugging it in.

Oh well, I needed a new keyboard anyway.

it would prolly need a system update for it to work.. I know it was for a wired ethernet connection if you dont have wireless.. since there is now a wii usb dongle for your pc, now maybe they will add some HID drivers eventually

Probably so

I have in the past found that in place of Nintendo's USB transmitter, a CodeJunkies WiFi MAXX (which was originally designed to interact with the PSP and DS) Also works with Wii.

The reason why I went with WiFi MAXX was because all the stores kept selling out of the USB transmitters. Later on I would get a Linksys Wireless G router.

BTW NightStar, I've added you

Do any USB drives with the Wii yet? I also notice on the Photo channel, its says you can use it to look at photos and 'watch movies' - anyone done this with anything other then a SD card?

Welcome aboard Firehopper!! Smiling Theres furry Mii's wandering everywhere Eye-wink

I don't think so. Probably the only thing that will run on the USB ports is the LAN adapter and any other gizmo that Nintendo has out right now. Though I would not be surprised if down the road, Nintendo either comes out with a Keyboard for the Wii or a system update to accept USB Keyboards
