So in the mad dash to make a reservation at the Westin when it opened, I said there would be two adults in the room since I knew it would be my mate and I, plus I had no clue if any of our friends wanted to roomshare.  Well of course with the run-up to the con, we've been approached by some of our friends about sharing the room, which is fine, that's the easy part.  I figured it might be a good idea to update the reservation to reflect that there will now be four people in the room so that way the front desk is not asking me why I want four keys for two people.  However, it seems I can't change the number of people in the room onlne, so would the best approach be to call the Westin and have them update the number of people?

Also, is there a difference in the rate if the number of people in the room goes up?

All you will need to do is call the Westin reservation desk and have them update the number of people who will be staying in the room.  For AC there will be no difference in the room rate depending on the number of people, the price of the room will be the same whether one person is staying in it or 4 (this is part of the AC contract with the hotels for the AC room block).  The maximum number of people allowed per room is 4.
