I need help, again. My mom said she looked for options of other conventions, which I disagreed because they were all anime :/ But since I'm a furry and not an anime freak, I told my mom no it's not what I like but she still insists on other cons which are STILL anime. And I just can't explain the world of furries myself to anyone, especially to my parents, because they might wonder about it and search it and maybe even find the deviant stuff (resulting in not going. How do I get her to accept the Anthrocon?

Have you thought to tell her that you would not send a coin collector to attend a plumbing convention? No, you would send him to a numismatic convention.

Once again Kage, your mastery of vocabulary is matched only by your logic!

Woah that's genius!!

Well in this case my mom doesn't know about coin collectors. Like I said before she needs to know about furry if I'm going but I don't tell her about it. But I got my mom to see the Anthrocon page, that way she'll understand more about the convention Smiling

on the left side of the screen, the second selection from the top -What is "Furry"? might help you out. You may want to copy and paste it into Word or Notepad and print it for her to read at her leisure. Also you may want to look around WikiFur for "what are furries" articles and print those out too for her.

The easiest way I could say to explain the 'good side' of the fandom are people that enjoy animals, animal art, and animal characters in cartoons.

There are deviants in the furry fandom, and that's unavoidable. But there are also deviants in any social clique in society.
