Long story short: Friend in Conneticut wanted to pick us up and go to AC, bailed on us yesterday, can't change flights, now we're stuck in Connecticut at midnight the 23rd... HALP!

You can definitely take it as a learning experience. No matter how positive someone is that they're going, anything can happen last minute that can ruin everything. Backup plans are always nice, such as if you have a car of your own. Or look for a non-fur friend that owes you a favor and drag them along.

If you get desperate, Amtrak is $74 each way per person from Hartford to Pittsburgh (a 13-hour trip).

And were I you, I would never clap eyes on that "friend" again for the rest of my life.
