anyone have any good ideas on how to make the arms? I'm thinking of making them like an opera style glove. And since my charrie is a horse I don't need paws, I'm not makign her hand into hovves either. I want her to be able to grab things with a humanish hand. So if anyone could give me some pointers it would be wonderful. |

I allwais think that, the Horse-fursuit is most dificult yet.
your fursuit is like a comic horse, or like a real horse???
1) in an hipotetical event of a horse comic:
try with the tipical glove, "with four fingers"
2) or horse like a real: is most dificult, can make hooves in wood+paint+epoxic resine... or can buy it.
now, you need use your hands, to this can you make under the hoove an space for your hands, an other idea is make hooves like goat, because are more flexible.
or try with this method "to me is anti-commodity"

good luck... =3

It is going to be as real as i can get it, unfortanly since I don't have the money to get a head made, i will not have a head, just a wig and some ears. But my boyfriend and I are going to work on an upperbody suit so if I want to wear something that is sleevless I can and I don't have to worry about my humanness showing.
Thanks.

Yep, that was kinda our plan. Not to mention we just picked up a fleece that would make a great main color, then I got some scraps, all of it was on sale. We are going back next week to buy the fur to go on the arms, feet and in the ears..... lets just hope that we can get it right.

permalinkI saw a very nice picture just a couple of days ago. The artist drew an anthropomorphic horse with rear hooves but the hands were 2 large fingers with a much smaller thumb. I think that is a neat concept because one could still grasp items.
Another idea would be to make a glove with hoof cowl around the hand. This way if your arms were hanging you could curl your fingers and have them appear hooflike, but if you needed to grasp something you could uncurl your fingers.

Yep that is the way my boyfriend wanted to go, but I talked him into doing opera style gloves in a faux fur. Should be interesting.
thanks
