So, I called the Westin today to confirm my registration and that was all good. After I hung up I went into my account to double-check that everything was charged correctly, and didn't see the charge from back in February when I made the reservation.

 

So I called back and ~whoops~ I guess they forgot to charge me the deposit when I booked the stay and they charged it today immediately after I called to confirm the registration because I guess they must have noticed it when they were checking for me. They didn't say anything to me about it, lol! :| I probably wouldn't mind so much if they would have just mentioned to me when I was on the phone with them the first time that they had made a mistake and were charging me the deposit now.

 

And on top of that, the people I talked to were really unhelpful. The girl was basically like ~lol I don't know what happened~. :| Um. Thanks.

 

I'm glad that I usually have an excess of money in my checking, because it would be really shitty to be hit with a charge that I wasn't expecting months after I made the stupid reservation. Especially when their confirmation email states the day that I was supposed to be charged that amount. Unfortunately the month included a costly surgery for me and my account was full of charges in that range and the hotel doesn't seem to have any kind of unique identifier in my checking account summary, so I must have just missed it. Which I suppose is my fault, but still?! Really?!
