I'm sorry if this is a question that was already addressed, but I looked a bit and didnt see it anywhere. This is my first con, and I was wondering about how much cash should I bring? I'm not looking to get any huge commissions or anything, just an average ballpark estimate for how much I should bring with me. Any advice is greatly appriciated, and may result in me getting your slippers for you like a good puppy lol.

You shoudl bring enough to cover the hotel for how ever long you are going to stay. Also you have to take into account for food in case you want to go out with some new friends you make at the con. Another thing is bring spending money you may go in saying im not going to get much and then you leave with enough to fill your car twice over. So in all your going to want to bring more than 600 but thats just me.  hope this helps

Theres an acronym floating around there called F.R.E.S.H.T (Food, Registration, Emergencies, Stuff, Hotel and Transportation). I tried to find a thread detailing each part. Can't seem to find one though.

Plan and budget for each of these elements and you should be fine.

Well Im fortunate in that I'm preregistered so thats not an issue, transportation will not be something I need to set aside cash for since im just commuting into the city from the suburbs, and I'll be going home each night unless I stay with someone at con since I live only a short train or car ride from town. sorry probably should have put that up in my original post. and thank you for your service Rakusho.

Hi there!

I had to dig for it, but, if you look at Chiaroscuro's post #46 on this thread, I *think* it might help? He has a 'breakdown' of roughly the amount of money you should bring for each category he listed.

(sorry that I didn't find it sooner, seasonal allergies have given me one heck of a brainfog.
