Since I've ALWAYS wanted a fursuit and don't have anything else to do, I've been researching many different sites that give various tutorials on how to make fursuits. Ones I have seen are good but I'm wanting to make a suit that is sort of realistic but not really. I have been to many sites that some explain how to do stuff I want my suit to have, but for example, the digigrade leg tutorial I found was for hoofed (hooved?) legs and I am needing paws. I have no idea where to start. If you fellow furs can help a newbie out, I'd be eternally greatful! <3

I have already found a really good tutorial on making 3-d/"following" eyes (found here -->http://www.komickrazi.com/costumes/tut2.html).

How I'm wanting to make my suit is with digigrade legs, the eyes mentioned above, and a semi realistic  yet also cartoon style. I'm sorry if that is confusing.

What is the best material(s) to use to make a head? Some sites I see foam, others I see other materials I can't all name at this moment. I'm wanting a head with a moveable jaw.  I found another tutorial (which i have to find again cause I lost the page ><;) about making a fan to put in your suit head. How highly is that recommended? And if I do put on in my head, would it be better to be facing outward: pushing the air in the head outside to cool down? Or to face it inward: putting outside air in the head to cool it down?

Questions on the body of a suit: Can you make a suit were a tail stays on permanently? Most of the ones I've seen you have to attach the tail - though I don't know how they do it cause I see no belt or any place they could clip it onto.  I've seen a few sites saying to make a duct-tape dummy and I'm certain I may do that.

If someone knows the best materials to use to make a head (foam or the other materials other people use) roughly what all materials do I need to get to make a full body suit?

^ That suit above is going to be my more serious suit. Most my "first/beginner" suit. I've decides that i'm going to make my first suit simple and more "cartoony" head wise, though I would still like to have a moveable jaw. I still need advice on making the head.

With my "beginner" suit I'm just going to have plantigrade legs, which should be easy to do on a fullsuit. But I may need some advice on the feet. I'm going to mostly likely be active in this suit (wearing it to malls and such..) what is the best way to prevent to bottoms of the footpaws to endure much wear and tear? I know hard soles like shoes have would be helpful but how would I apply those to footpaws that would be larger than the shoe? jsut add rubber?

I shall add more to this later or reply to this with more questions when I can think of them.

(and fyi: my fursona is a solid colored wolf..so it shouldn't be too hard to do...right?)

Thanks~

The website I see others recommend all the time around here is Matrices.net. I wish you luck!

I very much prefer balaclava heads. I find that when you make them, it's not as hard to keep the head compact, avoiding the "bobblehead" syndrome. Not to mention it's a much cozier fit as well as minimizing foam and other nasty materials around your head to hold in heat. My sleeves make her hotter than my head does, on my balaclava head!  I don't have a tutorial of how I did it but I do have  quite a few progress shots I took as I went. Irime's head actually started as a "toaster head", and I disliked it so I switched to balaclava.
