im still making the foam base of my head and im stuck at the ears. yes, the ears.
i thought they were going to be the simplest part but i guess not.
i have a triangular(ish) shaped outline of what the ears need to look like on the head, but as ive figured out, this isnt the way to do it, i cant get the back of the ears to look normal.

ive been trying with triangles and i had an idea, but after i tried it with the foam i realized it didnt look right.

keep in mind its 1" foam.

so, how do you guys usually make your ears?

here is a pic of my fursuit head so far:

its far from perfect, and its nowhere near done, but i want to get these ears figured out.

Ears are not easy, they look easy but when you look at a real dog or cats ears they are far from simple triangles. They have a dished in shape, rounded on the back and are incredibly thin, which makes them hard to duplicate.I use plastic canvas cut into a triangle a little wider than I need then I heat the canvas (use hot water or a blow dryer) and bend them right down the middle and hold them until cool, so they hold that shape I sew my 2 pieces of ear fur together and slip the canvas inside, No foam needed.Shave down the very center of the ear fur leaving the tufts on the inside edge and wallah, real looking ears.

We need another and wiser, perhaps a more mystical concept of animals.Remote form universal nature and living by complicated artifice, man in civilization surveys the creature through the glass of his knowledge, we patronize them, and therefore we err,
