Hi all! This is a set I recorded sortof for the heck of it in February just for fun.

It may provide some insight into my favored style of music. Although, keep in mind that my actual set at the con may be a little bit more geared towards being as dancable and interesting as possible (my impromptu sets recorded at home are generally a bit more for listening than dancing).

Enjoy. If anyone wants a tracklisting I can cook one up, just never bothered to write it down.

(PS: The first track is a track by Substanze on the music community site SectionZ.com, so I doubt anyone will recognize it unless they frequent that site as well. The rest of the tracks may very well be pretty recognizable.)

I have not listened all the way through it yet, I am about half way through, but I like what I have heard so far. I will have to pack my glow poi. *nods*

The first half features the best overall mixing of the set... but this is just a sample anyway. Like I said, at the con I plan to kick it up a notch, hopefully the tracks are all going to be relatively dancable, and I'm gonna do my best to use some creative mixing - because whenever possible, I believe that DJ'ing is certainly about more than just playing music, or even beatmatching tracks to one another.

Just to give an idea, these are some of my notes that I'm keeping on my netvibes page, which I can log into and jot down the name of a track that would be good in the set at any point when it comes to mind. It's really disorganized and not labeled very well, but it's a glance into my thought process anyway. It kind of reminds me of how the 'set list' is jotted down on a piece of lined paper in Guitar Hero - this is kind of my version of that, but a little bit more high tech (and a little bit less organized!)

The track was actually suggested by my friend Deca, though if it was BECAUSE of NEDM or DESPITE it, I'm not sure.

It's a good track, but I don't know if I'm going to play the whole thing. It IS 10 minutes long after all. @_@ (Which would be fine if it wasn't one of the most repetitive dance tracks ever). It seriously is like the section used for YTMND pages over and over for most of the song, with some sort of breakdown in the middle and a long intro/outtro.

One of those songs that you could relax or dance to... I love it. Smiling

I must say I am suprised to hear you say that you could relax to this song. I have definately heard some relaxing melodic trance or ibiza style music, but I dunno where WITP stops being strictly dance music and becomes relaxing ;p

I dunno, just never thought of it that way I guess. I listen to all styles of electronica so I usually reserve that statement for chillout music Eye-wink
