Closet Furry help?
Okay..so uhm..I recently had a DUH moment and realized that I must might be a furry. I really wanta a suit and to go to fur meets..I do some art too..but the thing is..NOBODY knows this about me..My best friend hates furries and my bf thinks it's weird..I don't even want to think about what my parents would say ._.
I'm having a hard time deciding if sharing that I'm a furry is a good idea or if I ought to keep it underwraps..I don't want to lose my best friend and I don't want my boyfriend to think badly of me
I hate having to choose between relationships and being a furry.
I couldn't very well sneak off to a con for my bf..well it's comlicated..and I don't even know how I could possibly hide fursuits or the ones I'd like to create.
Relationships?
Or Furdom?
I'd like it to be possible that I can just do it and my bf not care..it's easier to hide it from my fursicutor bestfriend.. .__.
Being a furry isn't so much a big deal, but it can be if you want it to be. All you gotta do is sit people down and tell them about the fandom like it's some big dark secret, even though it's not.
You can enjoy hobbies but not tell people about them. Almost nobody knows that I like to design websites and doctor photos using Photoshop.
Be a positive example. If you break the negative stereotypes, then their arguments against furries are moot.
They don't like it, sucks for them. Be who you are, and they can get over it. your boyfriend will accept you for who you are if he realy feels for you and if your friend thinks furs are messed up, prove him/her wrong! Being a fur isn't something you should be ashamed of.
Link me to your FA/DA/Furocity or your msn or just ask for mine ^-^

Your boyfriend is allowed to thign you have a weird hobby. You just need to say "hey, it's weird, but I like it. It's cool if you don't.", and just keep it all very relaxed and casual. Has he seen the art you draw, furry or otherwise? If not, perhaps you should show him some of it, he may enjoy it.
The same goes for all your relationships. There's no particular need or rush to bring it up, when you do do so casually, positively, and in a low=key fashion.. and you should get some positive results. Also, Pro tip: Saying "I like furry art" is a lot milder a statement than "I am a furry". It's a preference and opinion, not a statement of identity.
