Hotel reservations and Westin suite reservations
We will begin accepting reservations for suites in the Westin starting on January 4, 2012. Remember, suites are very large rooms that are more expensive than regular hotel rooms.
General hotel reservations for rooms other than suites will start on February 2, 2012. They will NOT BE AVAILABLE before that date!
In the past, suites have been reserved by contacting Uncle Kage personally. I've never reserved one myself, so I don't know all of the behind-the-scene details. One thing from last year is that you must be pre-registered for the con before you can reserve a suite. Again, in the past, an individual could not reserve a suite: it had to be done through Kage. Do not contact the Westin directly about a suite unless Kage says to.
I'd suggest waiting until January 4 and then send Kage a private message through this board.
Maybe i'm just not looking in the right places, but i haven't been able to find the con price for a suite, may i ask what they go for a night?
This year's prices haven't been announced yet. I found these prices for Anthrocon 2010:
Corner Suite: $250 per night. This is a two-room suite with a king bed in one room and a small parlor room attached.
One-Bedroom Parlor Suite: $365 per night. This is a good-sized room with a king-sized bed attached to a sizeable parlor.
Two-Bedroom Parlor Suite: $480 per night. Same as the one-bedroom, but on the other side is a room with two double beds.
(note that room rates do not include 14% tax per night).
Expect the real prices to be higher! These prices are from two years ago and are probably lower than the cost will be this year! At the very least, the cheapest suite will be roughly double the cost of a regular room!
January 4th is just for the Westin suites, right?
Do any other AC participating hotels have suites? Are they all only available to reserve after February 2nd?
Oh yes, I am definite in wanting to get in on this. I got a suite last year, and it was awesome! Last year you let Kage know, and he gave you information to make contact for the reservations. I hope just this message is all that is needed. If not, I'll be putting another one up in 2 days. It is well worth the price, and makes things so much easier for both sides.
So we send the email for the suite reservation now or after January 4th or just call the westin after January 4th for the suites?
