____
I'm going to be calling the main hotel on the opening day for registration. I'm going to pre pay for the room before the con to avoid issues with the room being given away. Everyone who is in the room will be paying in advance and will have there name on the room so they can pick up a room key without me needing to be there in advance.
Goal: I'm a fursuiter and an artist. For this reason, I'm willing to get the larger double room if i can find another 3 furs wanting to deposit 200 each for the total stay. As that might not be possible, I have provided some other options.
Whats a room to me? : A room is a place for me to keep my things that I don't want damaged. Its a place to get in and out of fur suit. Its a place to store my art supplies without fear that something is going to be stolen. Its a place to have personal downtime. Its a place I feel I should be able to access most of the time (see privacy)
Pricing: Even split. Coming to $200 total per person for the 5 nights. This is not per night, but for the full stay at the con.
Primary Porous: To provide space for 4 furs to sleep, leave there things, and use the room more for necessities then guests.
Restrictions: NO PETS, NO SMOKING
Quiet Hours: 10:30pm-9am : Defined as a period of time when noise and lighting level is kept to a minimum. You can still come and go, just be aware that furs might be trying to sleep.
Guests: The room isn't meant for guests. You can invite guests in, there is often many reasons why fur suites will have guests in a room. If its for personal time, you must have permission from the one sharing your bed. You take on all responsibility for any damages guests you invite in cause. This includes damages to other fur's property and anything stolen from the room. Fursuits and art supplies are expensive. Your responsible for any charges to the room you or your guests may cause (Your not permitted to charge anything to the room). The mini bar fringe will remain untouched.
Parties Allowed: No
Privacy: Everyone is in titled to there own privacy, just leave the do not disturb sign on the door. Be respectful and don't make comments about someone putting the sign on the door. The sign is good for an hour (some of us need to get out of suit). If the sign is still on after that, knocking is allowed, and after a short time to allow anyone to get deceit, entrance is allowed.
Privacy in regards to personal things: If your bringing something that might be out, that may not be kid friendly, or maybe you have a strange behavior. You should bring it to my attention. I would like for all furs within the room to be aware of things and not to discriminate on other furs personal .. um needs. (The way i see it, it doesn't really matter if someone is into something or not,.. as no one can have parties in the room, things shouldn't become an issue. I don't discriminate against furs with kinks or even cubs, just keep things private and don't call attention to it. We can't have smelly things within the room as it could cause unrepairable scent damage to fur suits)
Key Card: Room is prepaid, and your name will be on the room reservation, allowing you to pick a card at the front desk regardless if I'm there or not.
Showering: Please shower, i know the con will be fun, but don't you think others will like you more if you smell fresh.
Cots/Inflatable beds: If you don't want to share a bed and we get a larger room, you can set something else up in the room. Still only 4 max a night in the room total.
Underage?: Everyone staying in the room needs to be of legal age to drink. I'm not going to worry my mind over a miner in a room that might contain alcoholic beverages.
I don't drink or smoke.
I do draw art on the side if an artist would like to use some of my case of copic markers.
Is any one interested in rooming with me?
Payment: Payment will be over PayPal, your spot is only reserved once i receive payment for the room. I need all funds before Janurary 25th so I can prepay the full amount on February second. If you put a deposit down for 500 and we all agree to downsize the room, you will be refunded the difference. I'm not out to make a profit on this.
Refunds: No refunds will be given after AC starts. I am fair, if for some reason you need out of the room (before AC) and you help find another fur able to take over your spot, The new fur will make a deposit to my PayPal account and I will refund your deposit.

------------------------------------ FAQ ----------------------------------------------
I'm going to summarize your post with two questions, then add it to the main post:
Q: Does the Westin accept prepayment of the full stay?
A: Yes, I called to confirm.
Q: It has been recommended to exchange money after February 2. Why do I need to make a deposit so soon?
A: Peace of mind. Your spot can't be given away, even if they are offering more money. My goal is to pay for the full room when I make the reservation or when I receive all the deposits from the 3 that will be in my room.
Q: What if the price changes as posted on the AC site?
A: If the price goes up, you will need to send me the difference, as this is an even split. If you can't afford the change in price, I can try to work something out with you or we can do our best to find another to take your spot so I can give a full refund to you over PayPal. If the price goes down, you will be refunded the difference over PayPal.
Q: Why do you only accept PayPal?
A: PayPal provides Transaction IDs and details about Transactions. I don't have to bother with checks and the risk that a check will bounce. After all, who wants drama when discussing money and sleeping reservations.
www.anthrocon.org/node/7471/general-hotel-reservations-begin-february-2-suites-westin-available-now
Anthrocon's hotel rooms are not yet available for reservations! On February 2, 2012, at 9:00 AM EST, we will throw open the doors for people to make reservations at the Westin Convention Center (our flagship hotel), as well as our all-within-easy-walking-distance satellite hotels, the Doubletree, Courtyard, Hampton Inn and Omni William Penn.
Reservations for Westin Hotel suites (and ONLY SUITES) can be made starting...now! Suites are deluxe rooms as described below and are more expensive than regular hotel rooms, which this year will be about $140 ($160 with tax) per night. We make these available early because of the high demand. Remember, only suite reservations at the Westin are being accepted at this time. Regular room reservations begin on February 2.
In order to secure a suite, you must send an email to ceo(at)anthrocon.org with the phrase WESTIN SUITE REQUEST in the subject line. Once again: send an email, not a private message. Include the full (real) name that the reservation will be under, and – very important – include your Anthrocon 2012 membership number which was sent to you by email when you submitted your registration. We will send you back an email with instructions on how to go about reserving a suite through our special contact at the Westin.
Looks like I misread some of the information. I'll be updating this posting tonight when I get home.
And thank you both for seeing my error in thinking the suites were the room prices.
___
Updated main post, thank you both again.
And, to quote Our Esteemed Chairman's response in another thread:
It might be prudent to wait until after February 2 before exchanging any money. The reservations for our room block have not opened yet and while we do not at all expect the Omni to fill up as fast as some of the closer hotels, we have been surprised before. Best to ensure that a room is actually reserved before taking anyone's money for it.
That person was asking for roommates at the Omni which (usually) doesn't fill up as quickly as the Westin. You might be better off to be certain that you have the room at the Westin before collecting money. The hotel will charge you for one night's stay before the con starts, and that deposit should avoid any problems with 'losing' the room. Assuming the hotel will allow pre-paying, that should be able to be done before the con, but after February 2.
One other comment: Make sure that all people in the room have their real name on the room list and that they all have the reservation number. As I said last year, if a name is mistyped somewhere along the line, having the reservation number makes it a lot easier for the hotel to accept that this person with an ID saying "Samuel Conway" might just be the "Samuel C. Onway" who's listed on the reservation...

In other news,
it does my heart good to see that both threads, be they premature or what-have-you,
are very specific. When you look at the topic title, you know what you're looking
at, and when you read the thread, you know what you're asked to be getting into.
Many follow-up questions are headed off by informative first posts.
That means we have some posters who are reading some before posting. I like that.
I'm making an effort to keep the main post up to date so others don't need to read though the full thread for an answer.
I've been on forums in the past that the poster keeps replying throughout the thread instead of keeping the main post up to date.
My goal is to have one spot that people can read everything they need to know. I've added a FAQ section to post questions I summerize from newer postings.
Its a forum and it has a quality and ease of use based on the effort we put in it.

Only one comment: the rooms you mention are all suites. While I don't know the details behind the scenes (I've never been interested in getting one), I do know that you must contact Uncle Kage himself to arrange a suite. In short, you will probably not be able to get a suite over the phione on February 2.
