Hi all!

As many of you know, Anthrocon hosts its own game show...Anthropoly.  The panel for the show is usually a great representation of diverse telant from many areas of the furry fandom.  (Writers, performers, GoH, fursuiters, etc.).  While there is a lot of comedy and fun to be had....I am considerng a new game show concept.  I'd like to know what you folks think?

Do folks want to see another iteration of this show, or shall we try a new game show concept.  I have something fun in mind....but would like to know what all of you think.

Input please? Smiling

KP

I like Anthropoly. After 3 years of being called up, odds are in my favor for this year too. lol However, a new game could be fun. I'm sure whatever you have in mind will be great.

Details on the proposed alternative?

I've been to two or three Anthropoly shows, the first out of curiosity, the others due to there being nothing else to do, and to be honest, I've generally regretted it Sad The audience members who participated were generally clueless (I'm not saying I'd do much better if put in that spotlight though), and the panelists' answers were often clique-ish in-jokes that meant more to them than to the audience.

All of this of course is IMHO, and I'm sure everybody else loves it...

I've actually enjoyed anthropoly a great deal, the last few times i've attended (lately i've been on duty a lot during it).  But depending on what the new alternative is, i might be just as interested in that.

Just as long as the biggest focus is on the ridiculous, not the prize-winning; to the extent that i watch game shows, i stick to the silly ones like Would i lie to you--the ones where the point is to make each other laugh and any winning is incidental.

I've always wanted to see Anthropoly - and for some reason each year, missed it.  While I am not really sure what the format is, the programming guide has always made it sound like a lot of fun, and even educational, too - and it didn't sound like the sort of thing that one had to be "popular" to get involved in or to win, either.

Can your alternative match those qualities?

As the lowest scoring contestant in Anthropoly history (to my knowledge, I wasn't there last year) I feel a certain attachment to it.

However, if the potential alternative is interesting enough, I wouldn't mind a chance to take the new game into negative numbers.

And for the record, all my answers were perfectly clean... it's just that everyone else had filthy, FILTHY minds. That's why I love double entendres. Eye-wink

I am a HUGE game show fan and really applaud how well Anthropoly is run. I missed it last year but did go in 2010.  If the show were to change, I could see some sort of furry-themed "Family Feud" also being popular (maybe choose four or five audience members at a time to be a "family" and play against the panel) or a "Wheel of Fortune" type game where contestants call a letter and solve a furry-themed word puzzle for prizes.  I have hosted live games of a Wheel of Fortune simulation for office and company parties and everyone always has a blast, and this one will probably give the most audience members a chance to play.

Just my two cents, whatever game show is on the schedule this year I'm sure it'll be great fun.

FurFright does furry versions of both "Family Feud" and "Match Game" (complete with guitar vamp think music), so I think we wouldn't want to encroach on their bailiwick.

Hmm... well Anthropoly is essentially a furry version of "Match Game" so maybe FF took the idea from AC then?  I'm not sure how long each have been around.

More likely we both got it from the original game show. I've never been able to see Anthropoly so I can't say how close the resemblance is.

Actually, Furry Fiesta does the Match Game too.

We yanked it from the original game show for our Disco-themed year, and it just kinda...stuck. And is every bit as horrifying as you might think. (Probably moreso.)
