Massachusetts Furries?
Hello everyone! Name's Mollie. but I'm better known in the fandom as Nexus Folf or Gale the Saber Tooth depending on which suit I'm wearing. I'm from Braintree, MA myself. Just wanted to create a new post for massachusetts furries this year so we can chat and see who is going to Anthrocon.
So if you're a MA fur feel free to post your name, maybe what part of our rockin state your from (if you feel comfortable doing that) and if you're going to Anthrocon. Feel free to use this topic to coordinate carpools or con meet ups as well! Hope to see you at Anthrocon or some local MA meets soon!
I'm not from Mass, but I go to the Mass meets. Does that count? I also have family there. I already know you two, anyway... But I like to meet any furs from the New England area! If you attend a lot of meets, you've probably seen me around. I'm the one asking if I'm watching you on FA yet!
MA fur from North Shore, been to every single Anthrocon. 97-present (and the last couple MA fur meets at the 99). Almost 50 yrs old,

Yes, Virginia, there is a Danruk Rooface who's lurking in the MA area and long-time AC Staffer no less. I currently have an apartment space in the Dorchester area with family not too far away in Plymouth. I've been to the massfurbowl events and if I didnt work overnights saturday nights would be more awake to attend the sunday 99 meets in charleston. (could we push those to LATER lunch or early dinner at all folks??)
previous years while i was up inToronto area i was known to coordinate travel/ride shares to and from anthrocon. I made offers and inquiries for Massfurs in 2011 that seemed to stonewall and get 'no responses' excepting one very last minute one after i'd made my own individual megabus travel plan. I may attempt to look into a group travel or ride-share (big car/mini van rent) I suppose that again largely depends on others responding to such.

It certainly isn't! Hit up a Boston Luncheon Meet, Mass Fur Bowl on the cape or another local MA meet, we'd so love to meet you! 
To add to this, there are two meets this weekend: The Western Mass Fur Bowl on Saturday, and the Boston luncheon on Sunday! I will be attending both!

You should come to the Mass furmeets we have. We have furry luncheons at the 99 in Charlestown every month. There's also bowling in Yarmouth that's also once a month.

I'm 15 minutes away from Chelmsford in Nashua, NH. Does that count? I have grandparents, aunts and uncles that live in Chelmsford, which I'm actually going to visit on Saturday.

I think that's a super idea Danruk! I've managed to miss meeting you at all the MA furs events, cause one of usis always busy. I was wondering, I know myself and Kavi and I believe Cyan are going to Bucca, maybe we could have a mass furs table there, or at least we could walk together? Just a thought.
) DOnt forget! Ill be at The Zoo as well. ILl be staying at The Westin with 3 suiters. And its quite possible that i might attend the Friday midnight dance also.
Whoa!! There are furry dances in MA!?!? Now I REALLY need a car!! I would really love to go to these meets (especially if I had a fursuit )! My parents would never let me. :.(
No he's talking about Anthrocon. Anthrocon has a hangout place called the Zoo and hosts dance every night. MA has three bowling events/locations, a boston luncheon event, and other get to gethers, but no dances.
Although, Cyan wants to start a dance thing in MA...
There are furs in your area who are willing to offer rides to those in need, you know...
I know, it's just that my parents are really confused about the whole fandom thing, and they also think its a little creepy (specifically fursuits), so I can't go to many furry stuff.
If they're confused about the fandom, tell them that you're interested in this fandom involving "cartoon animals", and that this fandom has artists, musicians, writers, puppeteers, storytellers, performers, etc. Tell them only the positives of the fandom. Use examples that they'll likely understand like Bugs Bunny, Sonic the Hedgehog, Tony the Tiger, the mascots you see at sports events, characters from fairytales like the Three Little Pigs, etc. That should give them a better idea about this fandom.
It's not the fandom that confuses them. It's the whole fursuit thing. They think it's weird. I tell them it's like their own personal mascot (which I am occasionally the mascot at my high school, so they should be able to understand), but they still question why someone would want to buy one of those rather than a car.
You don't need a license for a fursuit, and very few of them get into high-speed collisions.
And even when they do, it is adorable.

But I know I don't need a license for a fursuit. I just need a car to drive to and from places. Also, would I be able to borrow a con member's fursuit if I asked really nicely? I have always wanted to try fursuiting, but I have never had the opportunity present itself. The closest thing to a fursuit that I have worn is my school's mascot suit.
We've had NorthEast Furs panels many years including last yr on early Fri night (Tony Ringtail chaired)
Okay so tentatively it seems we have at least two chances to do a massfurs meet and greet unofficially for AC 2012.
The bucca restauraunt thursday night meet, why dont we attempt to meet close to (but not sitting upon or blocking) the grand stairway in lobby area that is closest to the fish market restauraunt in lobby. I further propose lets try to gather about 15 minutes prior to actual overall-group meet time, so.. 5:15pm?
Then Friday morning, at the Zoo on the upper concourse level of the Westin Hotel (top of the lobby escalators, back left corner ballrooms!) we could plan to meet for 10:15am at a back-left corner table in the room (or closest available!) then we will promptly make our way starting about 10:45 to head towards Opening Ceremonies (which I presume still happen near 11, based on past years experience) and sit togetherish! -- aside note I only will personally need to take a small early leave towards the end of opening ceremonies, if there is specialty fursuit tags to be handed out this year, in order to help wrangle the lineup over towards con ops area where traditionally those specialty tags have been handed out.

I'm Richard. But in the fandom, I'm Cyan the Polar Cat. I'm from Waltham, and I've been attending furmeets in MA and NH since last August. I go to the monthly furry luncheons at the 99 in Charlestown.
Not sure if I'll be attending AC this year. I went last year and was never more happier to be there! But I'll do what I can to go.
