My Little Pony fans meet up?
I was wondering if any other MLP fans would like to get together one day of the con and mingle...
Hopefully we can get a bigger room this year - it was SRO in the Puppetorium last year
I don't know whether 319-321 or 303-305 are bigger and available, or maybe the Westmoreland Room in the Westin?
I wonder whether any Carnegie Mellon students will want to stick around after school gets out for this?
The great KP sees all and knows all. Once he gets to the final scheduling* portion of his programming process, i'm sure he'll be taking last year's attendance into account as he looks for a good space to put the panel** this year.
*read: ripping out hair in great handfuls and muttering imprecations
**This is assuming, of course, that someone offers such a panel, which seems highly likely.
the artist aura deva had a mlp gathering on sunday at one of the overflow hotels .Im sure if there isnt offical programing there will be unoffical gatherings of people who like the show
I loved the pony meets and panel last year, so I would hope for more of them this year!
The pony meetup falls under Fandom; I'll send a message to last year's host this afternoon.
Seriously i like mlp:fm just not at go in a mlp con , just if this continu anthrocon coming a mlp con , I don't make drama just I found abusive for a cartoon to take too many place in a furry convention , mainly anthrocon
As tyrrlin said elsewhere:
Trust me, we're not in danger of a MLP takeover.
Anthrocon is a convention that expects to exceed 5,000 attendees this year and has multiple simultaneous programming tracks. We welcome as many of our brony cousins (of all genders) as may care to join us; being open to new folks is how we stay current and relevant, and it's always been a strong element of furry culture. But MLP still represents only one portion of one track of our programming, generally no more than a few events scattered across the event.
Besides, at this time a large portion of the brony community still looks down on furry as weird and degenerate. It's silly, i know, considering how much we have in common. But i think some of them figure that as long as there's someone else they can paint as weirder than they are, maybe they can handle being a little unusual. But eiher way, considering that animousity, i don't see them even trying to take anthrocon over anytime soon.
Thanks for speaking your mind. I doubt AC will be taken over by MLP, any more than some other niche, like Sonic. It has its fans, some from the start before even generation 4, and some who will still be around after the popularity bubble bursts, arriving late.
If you don't care for it, you are welcome to avoid any meetup of those that do. No one will be pointing a gun at your head making you attend any MLP-related thing.
Nah, based on my info from next year, the hordes heading to the MLP panel will just carry you into the panel like a fish against the current. ;P

Last year we had a very popular and well-attended MLP:FIM panel; I would expect that we shall very likely have one or more again this year. There were also several informal meet-ups.
