I have anywhere from 4 to 6 people who are organized and we want to share a hotel bill.

I have not been able to find any solid information on what the maximum number of people can stay in a room is.

I think it's 4, however, just based on logic.

I'd like to stay in the Westin.

I plan to reserve a room when reservations open on Feb 2nd, but I'd like to know what I should try to get in terms of rooms. If I want 6 people to share a hotel bill, do I need two rooms? An adjoining room? A suite of some sort?

Any help would be appreciated!

It's on the FAQ page, https://www.anthrocon.org/faq/hotel#room_capacity :

  • How many people are we allowed to have in a hotel room?
  • The fire marshall does not like to see more than four people in a room, so that is usually the limit. There is no reason for anyone to go into a room and count noses, so if there is an extra person hiding under the bed, they are not going to be noticed. Of course, if you advertise the fact that there is an extra person hiding under the bed -- such as by announcing it on our message boards or asking the hotel for eight extra pillows and towels -- the hotel is sort of obliged to do something about it.

Good to hear. I'm planning to reserve one room at this point, as after posting this and asking people to give me concrete answers, I'm below 4 people.

Thanks for the clarification!

As a helpful aside, when you do book for the Westin, their menus towards bottom have a checkbox that you can 'un-check' and add each individual guest name in the room and email address, and this will allow any one of them to check in and open the room with any valid credit card on their own person, not necessarily the specific-reserving credit card and name on the reservation.  Just in case any of your friends or room guests happen to or plan to arrive sooner than YOU do.  (I have used this service to success with roomies to arrive before me in AC past)
