A few quick questions...
One: When the rooms open up on Feb 2nd, is it possible to request two rooms to be joined? I've heard some hotels have rooms separated by a 'private door', and that would kinda work for my plans with some friends.
Second, I was considering bringing a video game console or two for my friends to play with me in the room, does anyone know if the rooms USUALLY have composite jacks for me to plug them into? I'm going to ask the hotel anyway before coming down but I'm already asking something here so I figured I may as well ask this too
Alright, thanks
should I call and ask after making the online reservation?
You can request connecting rooms... but don't depend on getting them. If people show up on Tuesday or Wednesday and ask for those rooms, the hotel will probably give them those rooms (if they are available) simply because they are there at that time. In a situation like this, it's first come, first served.
As I've discovered at prior ACs, the TVs in the hotel rooms are usually set up in such a way that connecting a video game system does not work. I think they kill the input jacks. So I'm not sure if that'll work. You might wanna have a backup plan. (Last year a local friend of mine brought a TV.)
Power outlets are also in short supply; I HIGHLY advise that you bring at least one, possibly more, power strips. When you have four people in a room and they all have cell phones, laptops, MP3 players, cameras, etc., the 6 available plugs disappear FAST.
Oho, you're bringing gaming equipment with you?!? ^_^ I like you already. The Video Game staff will be putting out a call for equipment for the gaming room in a few days. Perhaps you'd be willing to bring some sharable equipment with you, too? Keep an eye on the gaming forum for the announcement.

The hotels do have some adjoining rooms, but they are in short supply. As for the composite jacks, you will have to ask when you make the reservation.
