Con Theme
Hey!
So what is everyone's ideas on how to incorporate this year's con theme? I have read "A Midsummer Night's Dream", so i know the story....just wanted to know what everyone's take on it is. =)
*big kitty hugs* =)
Hey now! Are you saying there's something wrong with fairies??
*blows a little smoke out my nostrils*
*is half fairy*
I am embracing the fey aspect of Midsummer's Night, but one could always consider dressing in the costume of the era when it is set. Or whatever else you may take it to be. Isn't there a scene where a man is given the head of a donkey? Theoretically, anyone wearing ears or a tail could be dressed "in theme" this year!
I was considering something Greekish.. like one of the Athenian's from the play.
I'm not much into the whole fey thing either.....i was just going to perhaps bring a fake "Love-in-Idleness" flower that the character Puck uses on the lovers' eyelids.
*big kitty hugs and purrs*
We deliberately leave the theme a little vague so that people can have a broad interpretation.
One could see it as fae, or Greek, or Elizabethan, or transformation, or lasagna-wraps from Furnando's.
(the latter is a bit of a stretch but I happen to be thinking about them right now. mmmm.)
what on earth is a lasagna wrap?... sounds rather yummy.
I don't think we can translate it into Australian for you, I'm afraid.
Also, *something* about your first Anthrocon needs be a surprise.
I have a feeling there's gonna be lots of surprises... hopefully they're all good ones ^.=.^ and make me a happy (a little bit drunk) draggy. I've seen from a few video's that alot of the action is at the bar across the road, it looks like the place to be... and a very natural habitat for an aussie dragon such as myself.
...I'm guessing from the name, said wrap has lots of cheese on/in it..
Also, *something* about your first Anthrocon needs be a surprise.
You mean like those mint chocolate chip milkshakes?
Ironically enough even if it's a midsummer night's dream, I believe the Con actually takes place a week before the Solstice. Late spring,
technically
I have a great idea for how I'm going to have an on-theme get-up. But it's a secret! Partly so it can be a surprise....and partly so if I fail no one will realize!
Lasagna wraps??? Those sound epic! =)
Very much delicious. But then, I love lasagna.
Still working on that myself...Think I might just not worry about it.

i've been racking my brain for the last week and a bit, trying to come up with something.... i know for sure that im NOT dressing as a fairy... *huffs and snorts*
