Arriving Early - looking to hang out
Hi!
I'm going to be arriving early to Anthrocon (the 13th) and was thinking that it'd be nice to meet up with other people who are there early. This is honestly my first time at Anthrocon, and my first time in PA. I'm going to be coming by myself (friends couldn't afford it/can't take the time off work), so I'm super down to meet new people. If you'd like to meet up wednesday before the con, send me a message or post here.

I already have a plane ticket over there. ^^ I'll be getting in around two or threee wednesday afternoon, but it'd be fantastic meeting other furs from colorado. I'm from the denver region. If you are okay with picking up a straggler on wednesday for your wandering, that would be awesome.
Wednesday is a bad day for us. We're all staff and we start working Wednesday. But, a great way to get to know new people is to volunteer and Wednesday afternoon is when the volunteers are starting to be needed. Especially Wednesday night for registration. We need help stuffing con bags.
If you're interested, stop by con ops sometime Wednesday afternoon. You'll be well apprciated.
Hey Im going to the convention too I have a fursuit that Im working on. this would be my first one and I wont have to worry about reservations cause I have family that lives near the convention in Pittsburg. But this would be my first con for furries. I hope to meet you guys there. Im from Wilmington, NC.
Sounds like a good excuse for an early arrival dinner or brunch of some sort. I'll be there early as well, and if I have good idea of a time frame it would be fun for us early furs to meet up somewhere and swarm someone's food menu/location.
I should be at the con by Thursday morning at the latest, but likely will be in the area sometime Wednesday afternoon because I have family/friends in that area too. I'd be up for some socializing with some new people that night or on Thursday before the AC ball gets rollin'. Sounds fun. =]

i'll probably be there early the 13th as well ^^ driving over with some friends from east PA, so we're probably getting there around 3 or later, depending on when we leave and manage to hit the turnpike ^^always fun to meet new people so might as well kill the time in a crowd ^^
Unless I have delays on my plane flight, I should be coming in around 3:00 pm. So I should have reserved into my hotel by five and gotten changed ect. So how about we plan on meeting at the DoubleTree (the one only a few blocks from AC) around seven? I have no clue what sort of food is around, or any of the streets, so that would be the easiest place for me to meet up with people at. An early dinner with everyone would be awesome. I can make another thread if we are okay with that time and come up with an idea of a place?

I second this notion. Taking the time to volunteer is an absolutely wonderful way to get to know peole and have fun. I feel silly for not thinking to suggest it. :C
Also Jazzerdawg, you should check out the "Room to share" sub-forum. There are usually always people even up to the day before AC looking to fill up their hotel rooms to minimize cost. Hey Giza, made a good area to meet its large and its near where everyone might be at. Depending on the hotels that everyone reserved in.
a small group will be there on the 12th. Zharr, Sarus and a one other.
Well aparrently My family has been keeping secrets from me. I found out that my family members that lived near the convention has moved to a different part of PA. No Im going to have to Reserve a spot in one of the hotel(s). But With my pay checks as they are Im probably not going to have much of a choice but to look around for someone willing to help me out. oh well life isnt always fair.

I will be there from the 12th but I arrive at about 9:30pm then I have to gett through security and make my way to the doubletree. After which I will probably want to sleep so realistically the 13th would be the best day for a pre-con meet up. I am planning on going to Buca 2012 which is on the 14th.
I plan on arriving on the 13th as well. Maybe we can meet up somewhere.
How are you getting to the con? My family and I are from Colorado Springs. We'll be driving in. 20.5 hours over 2 days. But we'll be arriving the Monday before the con. We like to roam around Pittsburgh before the con.
