Call for Fursuit Track Panels - Anthrocon 2012!
Anthrocon 2012 is upon us! This year, Sharky and I will be working to coordinate the Fursuit Track!
I am looking for panelists to donate some time and skill to go over areas of fursuiting experience they are familiar with!
Below are generic items covered by this track, but ANY idea would be helpful! Please feel free to forward this email to anyone who may be attending the convention who would be interested!
FURSUIT CONSTRUCTION, DESIGNERS, and/or CRAFTSPEOPLE:
To those individuals or companies who are in the business of creating designing or making fursuits, this could be a valuable way to not only reach an audience of like minded individuals who are interested in your craft, but potentially target your skills to a specific audience attentive of what you have to offer! In the past, people have done construction panels, workshops on specific types of design (eg. Electronics), cleaning and maintenance, and even panels on basic sewing technique!
FURSUIT ENTERTAINERS, PERFORMANCE ARTISTS, and/or COSTUMERS
For those costumers who either perform, mascot, or have talent in entertainment; showcasing your abilities will surely allow others the ability to understand the difficulties involved in the performance aspects of costuming. You may be able to help others better hone there craft, and become better performers overall! In prior years, we have had amazing talent showcased from major professional mascots, to independent contractors, to even general techniques on how to manage an audience!
FURSUIT GAMES & FUN!
Fursuiters enjoy showing off and proving a captive audience with entertainment! If you have an idea of an event you would wish to sponsor with your help, please feel free to also contact me as well! We will have many fursuit activities, and it would be awesome to include new ideas to make it even better! In the past, things such as the “Fursuit Dance Competition”, the “Fursuit Games”, and "fursuit charades"!
PLEASE EMAIL US YOUR IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS FOR PANELS TO THE FOLLOWING ADDRESS:
If there are any other questions/comments/concerns, please either email them to the address above, or leave a comment below!
Thanks!

Anthrocon Fursuit Track
As a non-suiter with a budding interest in costuming I look forward to these panels the most.
Like kind of on topic, about the panels, but not really about Fursuits. I would like to be involved in a panel, but I'm afraid that my idea sounds like complete and utter lame-sauce. I'm a professional public speaker (I speak for people at different events) and I kind of want to speak at AC. Problem is that I'm not certain if anyone else has an interest in 1) Public Speaking or 2) Even speaking in front of people like at meetings. I know that most things at AC are supposed to be fun, and I am sure that they are, but I just don't want to be the lame one out if not that many people are interested.
This will be my first AC, so I'm a little bit dodgy on the panels too. I don't even know what to expect, and that's influencing my cold feet a lot. Any tips, ideas or suggestions? Would anyone even like to see that?

Public speaking can be a useful topic at all events even a furry con. I personally dont see a reason why you cant do a panel on it at AC. I am pretty sure its been done before. Do me a favor and contact me at and let me send you the form to set up this panel. Fill it out and e mail it back to me.
Sharky
I submitted a panel for review about making soles, adding them to costume feet, and repairing them.
I submitted a panel idea to Sharky about Fursuting in the real world, hope it gets approved! :3
You should have my info on the Fursuit related panel i wish to host at AC. Let me know if there is more info needed.

As far as I know you are all set at this point. You have been added to the spread sheet and we should not require anymore information from you. If anything changes we will be sure to contact you ASAP. I look forward to your panel, and hope I can get a few free mins to stop in and take a quick peek.
Sharky
Hello I've been a mascot for about 6 years, if you need help with an acting class or a beginning suiter's class I might be qualified to help.

Thanks for this posting Panda.
In the ten years that I have been involved with AC and having hosted several fur suit construction panels I found that it is a great way to get involved in the fandom. It’s also a good way to get your "three mins of fame" (we are all granted in life) make new friends and share your knowledge with others in the fandom.
Please remember that the over all success of AC is do to the incredible talent we have among our attendees. It’s a wonderful fandom and the amount of raw talent that I have seen over the last 10 years is staggering. So if you have a basic interest, skill or other talent that you are dying to share with others then consider hosting a panel at AC this year. The fandom really needs your skills to keep it alive and kicking. (or swimming like a fish in my case)

This was no boat accident.
