The quadsuit group on FA reminded me that I've never seen a full-size quadsuit meet at AC. Most quads seem to be on the west coast, but I know of a couple that come to AC and it would be fun to get them all together in one place. Any takers?

MEET TIME AND PLACE:

The meet time is 3:00PM, directly after the parade.  If we can all get lined up near each other, that'll make things easier but for anyone joining us afterward, the meet will start outside the ballroom in that big area near the headless lounge and we'll move from there.  Depending on how we feel, there may be a half hour break in the lounge prior to the meet, so it may begin around 3:30.

Bixx told me she was interested when I posted this as a journal on FA.  I haven't had any other replies yet.  This is in addition to me, of course.

I already asked Bixx but I thought I'd ask here too.  I've never been to AC before, so where's the best place for the meet?

Sorry to post so soon after, but I just found out Bixx hasn't either so I have no idea where the meet ought to be.  I figured I'd put up some kind of ad when I got there and saw the lay of the land, but a suggestion now would likely lead to a more productive meet.

Consider:

1)  Foyer area outside the ballroom (close to the photographers and the headless lounge)

2)  If it's a nice day, the South Terrace (turfed terrace on the 3rd floor of the convention center)

Your first option sounds good.

OK, so the meet will happen in the Foyer area Saturday at 2 PM.

You may have inadvertantly picked a very bad time. Last year's fursuit parade was at 2pm on Saturday. This year is likely to be the same, though the schedule has not been released yet.

Blar.  OK, then, would it be wise to start at 1 PM and then we all move on to the parade once its started?  Assuming thats when it is.

EDIT:

Actually, I'm assuming there's a line-up time for the parade, so that'll mess with that.  New strategy!  The meet time is 2PM unless the parade is then, at which point the meet becomes same place but after the parade and we do our best to all be put together in the parade.

Since the parade looks to be ending around 3:00, we'll be aiming for that.

EDIT:

Saw new (or clearer) time for end of parade.  That's when we'll aim for but again there's the possibility of a break so the meet will definitely begin by 3:30.

It's nice to know at least one other quad will make it with their suit.  Everyone else I've talked to so far has either not replied, said they aren't coming or said they are coming but that their quad is in some way incapacitated.

Do you mean me or Utai?  I have a white tiger quad, but there's a Beastcub one on the east coast who goes to anime cons and doesn't return my messages.

Anyway, it won't be too hard to find the meet.  If you're in the parade, we can try to line up near each other.  If not, just go to the end of the parade route and you'll find the meet when the parade ends.  Much like finding quadsuiter gold and the end of a furry rainbow.

EDIT: If you saw the version where I said it was easy to get lost, ignore that.  I was thinking in two opposite directions and it muddled up the sentence.

There are three I'm aware of besides me

Rygar of the Wind - Singapore, not considered a likely candidate

Anime maned tiger owned by Utai Mitsumo - East coast but does not return messages

Gekigami owned by Kitsuneru - Unknown origin or completion status

Your forepaw articulation is very good, by the way.  As you've probably seen, mine are static except for a little bit of movement in the stuffing when I put the paw down.

I'm putting this everywhere as my report of how things went (badly):

An apology, an explanation and a promise

Apology:
I think I understand the late 10th Doctor a little better.  I'm sorry.  I'm so sorry.  No one can be more disappointed with how things went than me.  If the meet happened, I wasn't there.  The parade was great but I couldn't make it.  I was at Anthrocon but stuck in my room the entire weekend with only about five pictures taken from when I arrived and that's it for my involvement.  I wasn't even able to get word to most people about my condition so I'm sure they were left wondering where I went.  I had been looking forward to this con for over a year and the meet more than my own graduation

Explanation:
I was sick.  It's a bugger, but there we are.  I got in on Thursday feeling fine but stressed and as time passed I got worse.  By Friday I was queasy and tired.  By Saturday afternoon I could barely walk and my stomach felt awful.  Some combination of stress, overwork and worry about how things would go did me in.

Promise:
I spent almost a year getting ready and geared up for AC 2012 and months organizing the quadsuit meet.  Now I have even longer.  If we can all manage it next year, neither law, nor love, nor league of swords, dread nor danger, not doom itself shall stop me from making that meet.  For Gallifrey, victory etc.
