AC2012 Schedule is nearing completion
All right everyone. I know that this has been a big question for a lot of people: "When is that blasted schedule going to be posted?!?!?"
Fear not. The schedule is almost ready for release, and I have to tell you...it's AMAZING. In the many years that I have been programming director, I have not had such a problem in finding main ballroom space as we did this year. It's busy ALL weekend with only a few small breaks. And the main stage events are pretty darn impressive!
Right now the schedule is being tweaked, and I am having it reviewed for conflicts, errors, and things to smooth it out even more.
There will be some really fun new events, special guests, performances, and all kinds of other things that will make Anthrocon 2012 a true mid summer night's dream!
So sit tight just a little bit longer...you'll have that schedule soon. But to whet your appetite, here are some of this year's MAIN STAGE events:
* Sardyuon on Stage - A Performance by one of Japan's great fursuiters and acrobats!
* Bitter Lake - the East Coast Premiere - A full screening of the film Bitter Lake, with an intro and Q/A bu the director, Shay Graywolf
* Look Left in Concert
* Matthew Ebel in Concert
* Bucktown Tiger in Concert
* Screening of "The Great Space Coaster" with a special guest host
* Charades Impossible! - The new fursuit driven game show designed to make you laugh, and drive the fursuit performers BONKERS
* Anthrocon's Fursuiter Dance Competition
* The Masquerade
* 2's Rant
* Uncle Kage's Story Hour
* Kage/2-Gether, a Charity performance - this has been moved to the big ballroom to allow even more individuals to support the charity and hear these two performers work their magic 2-Gether!
Honestly, there is so much fun stuff planned, I know there is something for everyone! Will be releasing that schedule REALLY soon!
Anthrocon Programming Director
this sounds incredible i so can't wait!!
Can't wait to see it, Thanks KP!
Will overlapping of similar events be kept to a minimal this year? For example, one year either last year or the year before there was three standup comedy acts in the same time slot on one day, Giza having being one of them finally decided to delay his standup routine so all three wouldn't coincide at the same time to keep many from missing his event. Kage, 2 and Giza were scheduled to have their standup the same time that night.
Hope you can juggle events on this nature so many of the same event doesn't happen during the same time frame as in the past.
Adding an extra day in would alleviate this dilemma for something such a cramped schedule, Uncle Kage says isn't possible for various reasons including con costs and personal days off staff have to sacrifice.
We will leave it to you to decide on the con event programming and what is best.
Looking forward to the new schedule you have planned for this year with all the fun it brings to everyone in attendence. Have a fun and safe time at AC 2012 and beyond!
Kage and 2's shows are never placed at the same time since they both use the spirit of pittsburgh ballroom
I think he is talking about kage and 2's charity performance. Not the story hour and rant respectively
Are you sending out confirm/rejection emails for those who applied for a panel?
Once we all get the schedule finished and get some sleep, I'm pretty sure we will, yes.
yay the big room for kage/2-gether! Hopefully we sell that room out!
Can't wait! This'll be my first Anthrocon, or any fur con for that matter.
Neither can we; when the schedule is done, then we can sleep. \o/
More seriously, I'm hoping you'll have a good time at Anthrocon this year; should be a good con. We've got a great schedule set out!
Lol well I hope you guys can finish soon! Thank you! I really want to see the Masquarade and the Dance Competition and its finals.
I wonder who that suiter is. XD
As a pony fan i gotta ask, is there going to be another Brony slot on the schedule?
There is a MLP fan meetup, yes.
Was there ever a confirmation on my hip-hop panel? I'm not sure if I ever got a 100% yes, but I know you guys are busy cramming as much fun/awesome/informative into the schedule as possible.
I'm going to have The Great Space Coaster theme stuck in my head now...
When will I find out if/when my session has been scheduled? (I received the programming request form on May 20th & returned it filled out on the 21st) If I haven't heard yet, does that mean it hasn't been scheduled?
Likewise, I applied to take part in the masquerade earlier this year & haven't heard back. Is the procedure to show up & audition at the Saturday morning rehearsal and find out then if I've made it onto the bill?
I can't tell you about your session but for the masquerade you will need to show up to the rehearsal on Saturday morning. Any prospective acts must be at the rehearsal so they can be run through and any kinks worked out.
Thanks - see you there!
Sweet! I can't wait to see it all!!! Thank you con-planners for all of your hard work!
