Anthrocon 2012 Schedule
The Anthrocon 2012 schedule is pretty much done! We have SO many fun things on the grid, it's really going to be a SUPER FUN weekend. I am posting this initial link to the schedule grid and the descriptions...so that all of you can take a look and start thinking about those fun events that you want to attend!
There may be *slight* tweaks to the schedule, but this should be pretty close to the final product that you will see in the con program.
You can view the schedule here.
Take a look. and remember...the convention is only a few weeks away. Wait a minute...THE CONVENTION IS ONLY A FEW WEEKS AWAY!!?!?!?!?!?!?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
*runs around with arms flailing*
KP
The Anthrocon Programming Puppy
Good job!
Sweetness and awesomesauce. Thanks for putting the Reptile Meet and Greet at a great time! I'm looking forward to running it!
AHHH!!! SO MANY PANELS!!! 0_0
OMG! WHICH DO I PICK!? WHY CAN'T I BE IN TWO (or more) PLACES AT ONCE!?!? WHY CAN'T THERE BE MORE DAYS FOR PANELS!?
*huffhuffhuffhuffhuffhuffhuffhuff*
Ok I'm good now. I'll just have to work it out before I go. n.n;;;
We apologize for having too much awesome for you to handle.
As an Australian, I demand more days! We only get so much time over there!
Wow! Ther's just so much going on.
My name is still misspelled under Best Furry stuff...
I assume the Opening Ceremonies will be taped and uploaded, as I'll probably choose the Seriously Funny panel over them...
Ugh, my panel didn't go in. More time for fursuiting!!!
Is it hosted anywhere that I don't have to sign in to see it?
Hmm, must have been an odd security setting in Firefox, because you are correct, using Chrome (which is not nearly as secure as my Firefox settings) allows me to view the document without logging into Google.
Come to think of it, something recently happened with my email where I can no longer view it through Firefox. I've changed nothing on Firefox since I got this computer, so they must have recently changed something server-side that Firefox is blocking.
Anyway, that aside, I can now see the schedule. Thanks!
Looks awesome
I know a copy will be printed and in the con-pack, but are there any plans to make it available in an iCal or similar format so those with suitable phones can import the schedule ?
We've got it at Sched.org. just doign a few updates, the link will be posted soon!
noticed a small mistake on the performance descriptions. the kage/2 performance is listed as benefitting the toonseum (last years charity) and not hello bully (this years charity)
Greetings,
My screen name is also Shiriak, and I will be hosting the panel "Public Speaking for Everyday Life". If there are any questions for me that you'd specifically like me to chat about at the convention, please let me know. I'm honored and excited to be presenting (Even if most people will be at Story Time).
I will also be available for in-person chats both before and after my presentation. I look forward to seeing you there!
Sincerely,
Akiya/Shiriak
On another note, hopefully you guys update the iOS app. It's still all 2011. XD
Looks like the sched version of the schedule is up as well here at: http://anthrocon2012.sched.org/
Yup! Hope to see you there! :>
I absoluty love birds, but I lack any kind of fursona. Am I allowed in?
Great to hear!
O-o Ill definitely be there
I'm pretty sure of it.
Not this year. There is a live, Comedy Improv show..which will be simliar, but the actual Whose Lion cast couldn't make it this year. They will hopefully be back next year
Actually - Although folks are used to SemJay and Alkali, I'm one of the Whose Lion people too! (http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Whose_Lion_is_it_Anyway)
You want a Whose Lion? If there's room anywhere, I can gladly oblige! Might be a slightly different mix of games, but just as silly!
AAAAARGH. SOOO many good panels. SOOO many good panels when Registration is going full-blast. Sooo many good panels ALL THE TIME.
How do I fit two weeks of fun into four days of convention?
Bring a portable Tardis with you, just be careful of All the wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.
I will take your comments as a compliment...and think that the programming staff did a good job in building an event list that the convention (and the fandom) can be proud of.
It is a major compliment to both you as Programming staff, and the panelists themselves, that the Con is stuffed to the brim with pure AWESOME.
MY problem is I have such a wide range of interests that are addressed in panels througout the Con. If only I *did* have a Tardis!
I hate you for scheduling Doctor Rat and Aaron Neathery at the same time as the opening ceremonies. Hate you.
"hate" seems a bit harsh (unless you were semi-joking), but I'm not pleased with it either
As I noted elsewhere, I'm going to assume/hope OC will be recorded and uploaded, so I'll probably go to the panel myself.
I'm also not thrilled that the MLP panel overlaps the end of the Masquerade - I haven't decided what to do about that one; it's probably not that easy to leave in the middle of the latter given that the ballroom's darkened...
I don't know Tyrrlin, I don't know.
Time machine. Maybe, if I can't find a Tardis, I can use a DeLorean. ;-D
Im surprised K.P Dosent make any science Fiction panals lol, maybe next year!?
Are you offering to run one? I saw demand for a Homestuck panel at the last minute, so I offered to run one and asked if it was too late, which it wasn't. This is how the Homestuck panel got on the schedule. You could do the same for Science Fiction if you want next year.
Panels run almost entirely on a volunteer basis. The best way to get a panel started is to suggest and run it yourself. :>
that is a great schedule it works out great for me i don't get into late on thursday so Great JOB
Not sure if this was mentioned before, but will oversized posters of the schedule be put up on easels in strategic locations like what was done for AC2011 last year?
See http://www.anthrocon.org/registration for the On-Site Registration Schedule. Pre-Registration is similar hours, except:
- Pre-reg pickup begins at noon on Thursday, and
- Late-night Pre-reg pickup will be available in ConOps, room 309, from about half an hour after the close of Registration until 2am, each day. This is pick-up only, and Photo ID must be in impeccable shape.
I was wondering if I could know who was running the MLP meet, cause I have a huge MLP bag that I'm willing to give up as a givaway at the event. I have no use for it, I got it for free, so no loss on my part.
Well, the official? schedule doesn't list presenters unless you click the individual categories, in this case fandom, whereas the unofficial? schedule has hyperlinks/pop-ups for each event; in either case, it's Tim Kangaroo - suggest you drop him a PM over there as I don't think he's a member here.
Will there be a PDF version of the pocket schedule? I'd like to print it out before the con and neither of the above formats really work for that

Looking good, KP.
And just so others don't have to copy and paste the link here it is clickable:
