Heya

Has Anthrocon ever tried contacting Jim Cummings to see if he'd be interested in a guest of honorship?

If not, then I cast my vote in for Jim Cummings to be one of the guests of honor for AC 2008 Smiling

For those unfamiliar with Jim, he's most known for voice over work as Darkwing Duck, Scar (from Balto), and of course the infamous Don Karnage. Some lesser known characters he's done are Fat Cat (Rescue Rangers), Ed the hyena (Lion King) and his voice over credit goes on for like... ever.

By the way, for anyone wanting to get a general idea of what Rob Paulson is like in person, look him up on Youtube. There's plenty of video of him out there and he seems like after all the years of doing voice over work, to really enjoy what he does Smiling So I'm looking forward to attending that panel.

Das ist all!

Do you mean Scar from lion king? Or steel from balto?

Ack! Heh yeah I meant Steel from Balto. Jeremy Irons did Scar from the Lion King's voice.

Heh if we could get Jeremy Irons as a guest of honour, that'd _TOTALLY_ be chaulk full of awesome Laughing out loud

But I don't think that's going to happen Sticking out tongue

Jeremy Irons as our GOH, now that would be truly awesome. Although his list of credits is slightly smaller that Rob Paulsen's.

Rob Paulsen did work on Lilo and Stitch. I love him already. Sticking out tongue

All great choices, but I'd love to see Scott McNeil, and Brian Drummond. Who are they you ask? Only the voice actors of Tiger, and Grey Wolf from Monster Rancher of course. Sticking out tongue Least there's my vote. ^^

Actually, Jim Cummings did do some voice filler work as Scar in the movie during the "Be Prepared" sequence. Listen to the vocals from "So prepare for the coup of the century" on. That's him filling in for Irons.

I'd assume that Irons was probably just not available to return to the studio for a redub.

Now, a guy I'D like to see invited to AC sometime is Frank Welker. Now if EVER there was a guy known for his varying animal characters whose career was NEARLY as legendary as Mel Blanc himself, it's Frank Welker.

Just my two cents. Smiling

Seeya!

Hahah! If Jeremy Irons was GOH, I'd have to do my impression of him... as Scar of course. Eye-wink

Knowing what I know about Uncle Kage, the thought probably has crossed his mind. Cummings is a very busy man, though...and he's done so much work for the Mouse, I'm inclined to think the big D would send an "escort" to make sure he didn't exploit any of their copyrights.
