I will be arriving on the 4th, around 6PM. I'd really like to go see the fireworks that evening. Of course, in order to do that I'd need to know: If anyone else will be there and would like to go with me (or can at least help me find a good place to watch from), that would be very cool. -- |

Fireworks are at 9:30 PM at Station Square. It's about a mile to the southwest of the Convention Center, on the Monongahela River.
Whether that's a good place to view them or not is a matter of debate. It's bound to be quite crowded. If you just go down to the river you are bound to find a nice spot to see them.

I would think that Point State park would be a good idea if Station Square is too crowded ^^
It's facing it..

I forgot to mention:
Point State Park is closed for re-landscaping, which is why the celebration is being held at Station Square. Usually it is AT the park, but....

ah! I see..
I guess people could always go on Smithfield St. Bridge ..
And I remember that last year me and my roomie went to take a tour of the city and there was a funicular lift on the side o f the mountain ..
So I guess people could take this to go up the moutain and watch the fireworks from the belvedere ^^

Just a little extra info to add: You can find information about the fireworks and events at Station Square, as well as directions, at the official Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta website.

Me and a couple of furs are going to want to go to fireworks, so if anyone wants to join our adventure in finding a good spot to watch, can join us! Just email me at and we can figure something out! I am so excited!
