Charity Auction seeking art for promo item
We're going to attempt a trial-run of an exclusive Anthrocon 2007 promotional item that only donors to the Charity Auction can receive as thanks for making a qualified donation. This is an experiment, so no guarantees until we get the process down by trying it out this year. Make a qualified donation, get a free gift! While supplies last!
Speaking of which: do you want to make a donation, but still can't decide what to offer? We need artwork for our promotional item! We're looking for a small, sharp, simple, unique, and visually-appealing graphic for Anthrocon 2007 as an imprint for this item. To submit artwork for consideration, please use the following guidelines:
- Should be based on this year's theme: Looking To The Future.
- Will be imprinted w/o a signature, but credit will be given in Auction publications.
- Should be b&w, one-color.
- Needs to scale down to 2 5/8"H X 2 5/8" W without losing quality.
- Must be vector-based (no JPGs or BMPs, etc).
- Format must be MAC compatible.
- Deadline for submission is 5/26/07
- Send submissions to charity.2007(at)anthrocon.org
- Not a contest, we will either select a submission or use our own logo.

Does this mean that I can use black, white, and one colour? Or does it mean I can use black or one colour?
It should be monochrome, only using one color, whether that color is black, red, green, etc. That's all we can afford. 
If there are open areas of the design, the color of the material it will be printed on will be the color in those areas.
well if you send me the info on what file type i CAN use, then i have a great idea for the pic
Thanks for clearing that up. The vector requirement will probably slow me down a little (means I need to actually install Illustrator). I've got a design sketched up that I'm gonna do up larger before I scan and do some vector inks, but I've got some concerns over copyrights and the like. What copyrights am I handing over? Limited print? Exclusive print rights? What?
The vector format is a requirement of the company producing the promo items.
If selected, the image will appear on a limited run of the promo material (75-100 items). The copyrights involve our right to use the image you deliver on these promo items. The image will not/should not be used again due to the intended exclusive nature of these promo items.
I don't deal in artwork, so I'm really just making this up as I go along.
Umm what file type cuz I use PC and I haven't used a Mac since 7th grade.
