There's the green flag!

...PRE-REGISTRATION FOR ANTHROCON 2013 IS NOW OPEN!

You can visit our Registration Page now to purchase your membership to the largest Furry convention in the world! Note that we are handling dealer registrations a little differently this time around: dealers will register using the standard online registration system, and then will be directed to a new page to reserve their dealer tables. It's all part of our ongoing efforts to streamline the registration process. More information can be found at our Dealer Info Page.

Crap.  I sit here F5ing the page all morning before I have to go to work at 10:30...and it goes up so shortly after that.  So much for getting #251 this year.

Mark my words, one of these years I will be the first person to pre-register.

The secret to getting #251 is held very close.  But then, if someone were to give me a glass or two of wine, I may forget myself and start talking.

Anthrocon 2013, you will be sorely missed and fondly remembered. Anthrocon 2014, you are anxiously anticipated and wished a speedy arrival!

Do the 12 bottles left at con ops this year not count?  Sticking out tongue

But seriously, someday I'm going to get you so drunk that you forget you're running Anthrocon.  On one hand, given the stories you've told, sometimes you NEED to forget you're running Anthrocon.  On the other hand, if you get too drunk, you will end up leaving behind a bunch of STUFF.

#251 is the first attendee badge number.  The lower numbers are reserved for staff and guests.

One of the Board members, whom are 0-9. 10-29 are reserved for Guests of the convention, 30-250 are Staff.

Now, 2011's charity auction had badge #1 for 2012 offered, and it went for several hundred dollars. We may offer that again.. or we may not. Check out the Charity area this year to find out. Smiling

Uh, I may not be a staff member, but isn't it obvious? Uncle Kage is the head chariman of the Anthrocon organization. So I think it's only fair that he gets it, right?

After all...

UNCLE KAGE IS #1!!! Dance

(I wonder if he'll give me a free pass for praising him this honestly...)

Little oopsie (I think) that I happened to stumble upon using my finely-honed ninja senses...

Supersponsor Membership ($195 until 12/31/12; $200 until 06/15/13; $200 onsite)

So even after June 15th of next year, the price for Supersponsor Membership will still remain at $200? Was that intentional, out of curiosity?

As only Pre-Registered Supersponsors get admission to the Supersponsor Luncheon, we figured this to be fair pricing, yes.

Funny I was actually going to suggest a charity auction item as "Choose your badge number".

A charity I support that raises money for kids with problems by doing car rallies auctions off the right to choose your car number.

A few years ago the winner, who paid a few $k for the right to choose his number said he would double his bid if he could choose a letter instead.

Due to the hype of the night they said yes without thinking it through.

Caused hell for the organizers !

Probably not until mid-to-late December, at the earliest.  That's just a guess, though.  Registration for suites at the Westin historically open early in January: I doubt whether the Supersponsor early reg will be that early.

My personal guess is that the Supersponsors will get a week head-start on rooms at the most.  (And I've been a Supersponsor every year I attended.)

Charlie is correct.  It will be a matter of a few days at most, and information will most likely come in the latter part of January.

I wonder about the bribe... sadly, #251 has already been taken. If you register soon, you might still have a chance at a lower number.

Honestly, though, a number is all it is: just a means to identify our members. There's no real sense of rank or seniority just because you have a lower number. Eye-wink

But the day badge number #9,999 gets assigned... *runs*

467...a sponsor for the third year in a row. Pre-registered attendees will find a shorter line---and sponsors/supersponsors even shorter!

Preregistration I *highly* encourage! It's a much easier process for all of us. The pre-reg lines move ten times as quickly as the on-site registration. Eye-wink

Pinots don't really agree with me.  I much prefer Rieslings.

And I'll apologize in advance:  Anthrocon may not be the best place to talk to me.  If I have the time I'd happily sit down and talk with you, but at any moment I may be called away, and I tend to get incredible tunnel vision during the whole event.  I've been known to walk right past my family without even recognizing them.

Ok, thanks in advance and in case I don't see you, I'll be sure to tell a member of the staff to give you the wine. I'll try to find the Riesling or any good wine you like. Sorry to hear that pinots do not agree with you.

It's not that I don't drink them.  It's just that I find Rieslings much more agreeable.

And be sure to leave a note with the bottle if I'm not able to accept it personally (for which I apologize in advance).  I like to know who to thank as I'm guzzling the wine.  Highfive

Careful!  While "you get what you pay for" is a good general rule, the "Most Expensive" doesn't necessarily mean "The Best" - and I suspect that you wish to honor the chairman with "the best bottle of Riesling" which you can obtain.

Agree with you 100%, the most expensive doesn't necessarly mean the best wine. You can get a great wine in a 10 to 20 dollar budget. Remember it is all about the taste buds of a person. Wine prices fluctuate because of how old the wine is or how rare and also depends on its harvest. There are a lot of variables that affect wine prices as well as the wine quality.

I wish to honor Kage with his personal favorite. I don't know much about Rieslings, since I don't think I've had them before. So I will try to get him his personal favorite or something that he really likes. Hopefully he can type a list that either represents his reccomendations or his favorites, which in turn would educate me more about german wines.

Actually, I do tend to favor cheaper wines.  :parp:   I come from a blue-collar background.

But any wine that is a Riesling and comes from the Columbia Valley (Washington State, USA) or the Mosel Valley (Germany) will make me go squee.  Particularly if the one from Germany says "Kabinett" or "Piesporter" on the label (Piesporter Michelsburg is not the same, but it's also quite good).  If it says "Spätlese" it is a late-harvest wine which is very sweet. I like those quite a lot but it is not good to drink too much of them.
