As the former home of anthrocon, Philadelphia, I've had some trouble finding local furs. I'm just curious, Am I not looking hard enough, or am I just bad at finding local furs. Please there has to be more than i know of, I really want to start doing furry related activities outside of cons with some fur-ends. Please come forth Philadelphia furs. |

Well, I live in Pottstown, which is like sandwhiched between Reading and Valley Forge. But I'm not far from the city. I can jump on the highway and be in center city in like half an hour. Maybe 45 minutes with bad traffic.

as luck would have it i was hospitolized yesterday and under doctor's orders was told to rest, I'm really upset i couldn't make the movie, i really wanted o see some furs.... Stupid leg.

Aww! Sorry you couldn't go this time - but your health is of paramount importance! Stay off the leg, if that was the barbe...uh, Doctor's advice. There will be plenty of future opportunities to gather with the Philly Furs.
I recently had to see a medical doctor; sometimes, they give good advice! I had a blood-pressure issue that could no longer be ignored - 4 weeks ago, it was 191 over 110; 2 weeks ago, it was 178 over 119. These are "Boiler is about to blow! Run for your lives!" numbers, and only a doctor could help me do something about it.
Now, I take three pills a day, try to get in about 4 miles of gentle, unstressed walking around Burbank every day, and try to eliminate sodium - and on this last Wednesday, the numbers were 126 over 85! Still not anywhere near ideal, but I don't feel tingly numbness in my arm, and the headaches are moderated.
So take the doctor's advice, rest that limb, and have patience - you're sure to make a philly furmeet soon!.

I have 2 pills for bp, was 149 over 100ish
now its 130 over 90ish
but I had a bleeding ulcer before ac last year, ugh 2 days inna hospital with blood thirsty nurses wanting blood every 4 hours
plus, they had problems getting it.. so they had to dig for it..
but I still got to go to anthrocon anyway

While my leg has healed nicely, thanks froy our concerns by the way it ended up only being a sevre sprain, I have a nice record of having near perfect blood preasure, but thats about it. I look forward to ac and as many furmeets as i can get too. Here's hoping I see you there, or you see me there, which ever works for you.

Something else that is coming up that may be of interest to Philly area furs: Cape May Fur Meet. It's a unique little gathering of furry folk that takes us into Cape May via vintage train.

Well, damn Kage. That sounds like super fun. Sadly I'll be leaving the 19th for Fort Knox Kentucky for a little officer's training. But I'm sure you'll be able to keep all those furs in line without me. So have fun you guys!
