Hello people.

I've been involved passively with the furry community for a good long while now, and I've decided this year to take the figurative plunge and attend my first convention - basically, to see what all the fuss is about first-hand, for a change.

For what little it's worth, I'm a budding film-maker who wishes to produce a light-hearted but frank documentary on the ins-and-outs of the convention, as the flagship episode in what I'm hoping will eventually become a series, known collectively as FeeVD.

But enough of the trivialities: I'd basically like to know if whether or not what I'm planning is strictly kosher. Moreover, if management is willing to put up with a marginally eccentric feline pseudo-journalist, I was wondering if anyone would express an interest in participating - giving short interviews, appearing on camera, possibly operating the camera as I'm decidedly non-staffed... general documentary stuff.
I am, as you might have guessed, a bit of an amateur, so apologies for diving into this in the most haphazard manner possible. I'm not out to create a nuisance, and I'll ditch the project if it's going to cause issues. My objective really is to portray the convention in a humourous, observational but honest manner that will hopefully go at least a little of the way to counteracting all the negative press the fandom has accrued over the years. As a furry myself, I hope folks realise that I'm not out to be sensationalist or anything!

Your thoughts, if any, would be hugely appreciated.

In the FAQ section of the AC site ( http://www.anthrocon.org/faq/media ) there are some points that I think are relevent to your inquiry.

However I think the most important points are detailed on the bottom of the FAQ. While of course it would be rather rude of me to repost the information after linking to it, I will hilight the topics you should pay special attention to

"I am a member of the media and I would like to report on this interesting convention in my magazine/TV show/newspaper/blog/radio show/etc. May I do so and how do I get a press pass?"

"I am a student and wish to use Anthrocon as the basis of my film/media/radio project. May I do so?"

And a special quote I'll make sure to repost because I think it deserves repeating given the time of the year it is, this is in regards to obtaining such a press pass "but due to the volume of work that hits us, no media request will be entertained in the month prior to the convention."
You may already be out of luck for obtaining such a pass to film within the bounds of the convention itself. That will limit you to whatever people are willing to say to you in private rooms.
